I am a bit confused. First of all, does the HDD need to be formatted from the Xbox? I am asking this because I only see tutorials involving xexmenu in copying files (such as Dashlaunch, Aurora, etc.). I am assuming the hard drive is using a particular file structure that only xexmenu can manage.
Secondly, what is the best way to replace my KV with the banned one?

Yes, you format it like it’s a new hdd. Xexmenu is required because it is readable through the 360 Dash. Format a USB on the 360, then plug it into your computer, then inject Xexmenu with Horizon. Afterwards, plug the USB into your 360, and transfer it to the 360 hdd. Xexmenu can then read Fat32 formatted drives and files.

Don't need to inject it anymore.
Simply copying it to USB also suffices.

Or, simply follow this tutorial, swap out FSD for Aurora if needed and swap out Dashlaunch for the latest one.

Ok I got it.
Using J-Runner I could edit my NAND according to my requirements:
- changed the KV using the "Patch NAND" option, and changed the information (serial, DVD key, etc.) using a banned KV I found online
- changed MAC address in xebuild settings to a random one
- added "noSShdd" and "nofcrt" patches

I think I should be safe now.

Then I plugged my HDD in and formatted. Using FATXplorer I copied "xexmenu", "dashlaunch" and "Aurora" (and the game titles of course!).
Ran xexmenu and installed dashlaunch, from there I could set Aurora to automatically launch when turning the console on. Didn't touch the other settings.

Now everything should be set, isn't it?

Do you know if it's possible to force x360ace to automatically select the RGH NAND when I plug out, and then back in, the power supply?

There's a problem with my setup: the controller disconnects every now and then on the RGH side.
I searched for similar issues on the Internet and found out the problem might be the console serial I changed.

What is the correct way to "inject" a new KV?

Through patch nand, just like you did. You may want to find a KV from a trinity board and try that. As far as nand switching, what chip are you using? I mean for the extra nand.

Actually the KV data I injected belonged to a Trinity console indeed (at least I think it is, I have just compared the XML key <c:ModelNumber> with mine).

I am using the X360ACE v3 to switch between the two NANDs and programmed with rgh2_tri_su_du_51_1 file (from 15432's Viper Dual NAND timing files).

Sort of. It's a custom board I made according to Viper dual NAND design.

About the KV, do you think this guide will be fine with my setup? (I hope posting this link is not against the rules of the forum). I am asking for a confirmation because I don't want to disassemble the Xbox again just to flash the NAND.

That’s old asf, and it was primarily for unbanning a console to go online again. Jrunner is the best bet. TX (Stefanounick) put a lot of time into that program, so patch nand is still the best option.

If you’re using a homemade nand device, you need to be able to at least have a switch circuit wired to to use the sync button for switching. Idk how you could wire it up for switching the way you want to.

1. Is retail image on the 360 nand? Or your dual nand device?

2. Is your RGH image working correctly?

3. Can you switch between nands as-is?

The X360ACE switches the NAND when I press the Sync button. The 'issue' is that by default, when plugging the power cord in, the retail NAND is selected. I would like to be the opposite. Unfortunately, I cannot 'hack' the switching circuit (for example by flashing the glitched dump on the retail NAND, so it's selected by default) because the X360ACE glitches the console only when the second NAND is selected, so only after pressing the Sync button. That is why editing the X360ACE program is the only option, but I do not have any idea where to find the source code (also, I don't have any experience with FPGAs atm).

Yes, through the sync button I can switch between the NANDs (when the XBOX is powered off).
