You should be able to fix it with a hardmod but it would likely be much easier to just get an ntrboothax compatible flash cart and use it to run GM9 at boot.

Install b9 firsr, then ctrimage it.

Those that recommend flashcart have zero soldering experience and its free if you have a soldering iron already.

Hey man I have plenty of experience. However it's easier for those without to attempt the ntrboothax method over a hardened.

95% of users that even ask about a hardmod are familiar with the flashcart method already. Why spend 30+ plus wait for 3 weeks for shipping when they have the parts on hand. If you know how to solder there is zero risk and only takes 30 minutes.

I did read what you said, then gave you a response that never crossed your mind, then you got your panties in a bunch. I was giving the user advice on his question, you went off in left field about a flashcart which obviously the end user can give 2 shits about hence asking about the hardmod procedure. So you can work on your rebuttal now, but I won't give 2 shits.

The title is a bit misleading–the 3DS can be downgraded on 11.4+, although it requires a CFW and is thus almost entirely useless.

You do realize that this thread was made long before NTRboothax was a thing AND that ninty screwed soundhax kernal with native_firm update that hit 11.4

I have a New 3DS XL (snes edition) on 11.6.0-39U. Is there any way to downgrade or to hack this without the Guide's suggestion of DSiware games? I have several other OLD 3ds XLs on CFW that I could system transfer.

The guide covers the installation methods in detail. There shouldn't be any other ones that are currently relevant.

You can also hardmod or use ntrboot. As said above all methods are detailed in the guide.
