Hello everyone!

Does this emulator is capable of running Super Mario RPG without noticeable FPS drops and sound issues? I tried Snes9x 2005 (or + version, I don't really remember) about half a year ago and it was not very good. Maybe new version is better or some setting tweaks can help? Thank you!

P.S Maybe there are some better alternatives for Vita to play Super Mario RPG?

Is touch screen working? judging by front post corners of the screen are working as L2/3, R2/3, but it doesn't seem that i can trigger anything by doing it.

Yes, check the configuration. Try the buttons with a game that uses them, like... Silent Hill.

From my tests months ago (5-6) it works great on Snes9x 2005, only problem is when in a Level up stage, the randomizer slows down the game.

I'm having a couple of problems with VBA core on the Vita:

1) When I try to do the key combo to get to the RetroArch menu from in-game, RetroArch crashes (and it creates this dump file). Regardless of what the key config is to bring up the retroarch menu, it crashes.

2) When I use the game's save facility (I was playing Pokemon Emerald), nothing is saved. If I go out of the game and then back in, I have no "Continue" option, just "New Game"

Any ideas what's causing those and how to solve?

You need to leave the game throught the RetroArch menu to keep those save files. Do not leave RetroArch throught the swap method (PS button+swap the front screen). Instead, go to the RetroArch menu and then "Close Content", and lastly "Quit RetroArch".

If your VBA Next crashes, try another nightly, or a stable version.

Someone has already asked it for sure but I have a question: How can I configure the keys only for a console? For example, I want to use the "A" snes button on "O" but put the "A" gbc on "X". How can I do that ?

Tried to opens quick menu (once a game is running), go to Controls, setup here and hit Save Core Remap? This, in theory, would save that setup for every game loaded in that core.
Instead i use Save Game Remap because i use different setup for each game, even on same core.

What's the best way to have a separate configuration for each system core? Also, how do I have a different background for each core (the background for after you activate a bubble, just before going into RetroArch)?

When I press quickmenu , there is no CONTROLS option.
What do I have to do exactly? What are the exact names?

You use a old release or nightly?
Anyway is strange, because on quick menu there always a Control option, on very low in the list (you got at least Restart, Savestate, Loadstate and so on?)

Your pressing "quick menu" when not running a game so nothing is coming up.

You have to run a core with a game then escape the game using button combination e.g L & R shoulder % start & select at the same time.

This with exit the game and quick menu will now be full of items to change.

yes, that is what I do and then I find the controls, but I do noto see the option to save these settings to this specific core. What is the *exact* name of this save file option called in the menu?

After you open Controls from quick menu, there must be all button settings, and on top of menu you can see the options "Save Game override" or Save Core override.
Core for all games loaded on that core, Game for only current selected game.

Hmm thats's strange. Maybe Core saving doesn't work correctly? Well, this is not my fault anyway :P
I always used Game remap, not Core, so...

Still does for me.
Just tried the genesis core with the joystick ,
snes and genesis now have joystick control.

I'm running the stable version.

If your running the latest expect problems.

Clearing all data for new instalation is a must.
uninstalling leaves the original config file plus other bits and may cause issues with new installation.
make sure when updating you backup your system folder (bios data) and any saves prior.
delete the rest of the retroarch folder after uninstalling retroarch.
A fresh instalation sometime clears issues.
If you have box art you need to backup that stuff too
