there is a battery pack out there fomr NYKO I think
It would take some serious work to make it beautiful.

Get something like this

https://www.amazon.com/5000mAh-Extended-Battery-Nintendo-CTR-001-MIN-CTR-001/dp/B005NJ2UEW

It has an extended battery cover. More room to pack shit in...

Maybe it's fat but the features are beautiful. IDK how much room that cover provides. You might fit bigger speakers. If you could make a device like that I would buy one

https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-New...D=41qxh5jdxvL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=detail

I could see USB and HDMI out ports added to this...

Sure, It's your project. What Travel Case do you have in mind? I have seen ones in the past with speakers built in. Part way there. I still like the Idea of having it be pocket friendly all in one. That's Why I thought the battery cover. There is room in most cases anyway to accommodate the added thickness as I don't carry cartridges. I just keep an R4 in the slot. I suppose the Travel case thing works. I might actually try to build something too. Let's see how yours comes along.

Don't you think it would look clean. you could have USB and HDMI in the back under the 3DS charging port. Maybe speakers somewhere too? Looks roomy. Probably enough room to gut an R4 and set up a switch. maybe a switch to choose usb or wireless charging? I you did speakers you could put an amp, and make em real loud :) True all in one, might be heavy. But I would dig it. A Travel case with everything in it too I suppose would be great.

Interesting. Powered by AA batteries and it charges the 3ds

Is there a way to display the raspberry pi output on the 3ds screen?

Actually this battery pack looks nice, but it's a bit expensive... And if someone could 3d print a plastic case?

I don't know, but if someone could develop a VNC Viewer or a SSH Client for 3ds (HBL or CFW) then this would be possible.

I have an idea: using the Raspberry Pi for controller redirection and VIDEO STREAMING! I mean, you can actually connect the Pi to a TV with the HDMI cable and play games on that!

That's why i suggested it. Thought it would be cool to also output to the 3ds screen. Then you could use the pc functions of the pie on the go.

if you want fast charging, you need to ditch the built in battery charger-thing (this mans cutting some traces!). get one out of a mobile battery pack that supports fast charge, as well as voltage limiter and a bigger rechargeable battery. stick it all inside that nyko case, and wire it up the the right terminals, and your good to go! I can help with the circuit itself if you decide try.
