Follow https://3ds.guide to install Boot9strap, the latest and best setup you can have. It's super easy to setup, highly recommended to make the switch. Stop using EmuNAND and menuhax!!
Also, there's a step in the guide that has you move EmuNAND to sysNAND. So you won't lose any of your stuff in the end.

BTW I'm not sure if my emunand is even working anymore since I made an update and then when it restarted it gives a black screen on boot (because of rxtools being banned), the hell i could not even find the emu nand files on my SD :/

There's a step in the guide that will have you move emunand to sysnand, then delete emunand. All of your stuff from before will be in tact. If you want I can help you through the steps on discord. Let me know if you're interested : 3

I am using the menuhax and rxtools at the moment. menuhax is still working, but it gives me blinking black screen when I enter rxtools.
SysNAND is still accessible when I press the R/L button right away when booting up.

I have tried to follow the instruction there - but I've might done something wrong because it keeps on giving me red screen from the homebrew. I'll just wait until you are back online and ask you again?

1st: I already tried to do an update a year ago to the arm9loader hax but I couldn't get too far because when I used Decrypt9WIP to install FBI I got an error with the health and safety app and couldn't install it. I don't see in the steps (that are considerably shorter than the arm9loader way) anything related to Decrypt9WIP or to FBI, could there be reason for worry there?

2nd: You say that in the end we keep the content of the emunand after the migration, I assume that includes saves, right?

Also, you have been a great help to the community so I guess you must be pretty busy so reply whenever you can and thanks beforehand.

I'm cuban so I have several dificulties with the internet, I can use my laptop and CCProxy or other programs to connect my 3ds through the laptop to the internet so I can (probably) use browserhax without difficulty, but there is no way to connect directly to the internet besides from that setup; none of the needed homebrew needs a direct connection to internet?, this might seem like a very dumb question, especially since I'm a programmer and I work with this kind of stuff every day, but it still worries me...

Heey there, never met a cuban online before! There's lots of them in my area : p

3DS hacking has gotten much easier than before, you can migrate from emunand to sysnand with boot9strap in less than an hour. And yes all your saves, literally everything you had on emunand will be preserved. In the end, you'll get rid of emunand and stick with sysnand instead.

You're on the right track, starting off from the browser. This step will boot you into Safeb9sinstaller where you can simply install Boot9strap. Then at the bottom of the page you can move onward to the next step which will have you configure Luma3DS CFW. Then on the updating section you'll find a link that says "moving Emunand"

Follow this guide closely and you'll eventually migrate emunand over to sysnand. Then you can continue with the "Finalizing setup" section. It's very straightforward. Though if you can't get internet for the browserhax part, you'd need a DS flashcard to setup MSET.

It was indeed fast, the longest step was the backup of my SD to the PC and back. I will suggest all my friends to do this method from now on.

Thats great, glad to hear you got everything working! Told ya it was simple and painless thanks to boot9strap making 3DS hacking super easy. It's even quicker if you don't have emunand to migrate.
Now once you're done migrating emunand and you're on sysnand, you can update any time without worry. The latest update is 11.5.0 right now.
Also as a tip, you can use FBI's titledb to download homebrew apps or update them from your 3DS. Very handy

Hey. I was in the exact same position as you yesterday. Old 3DS XL with rxtools and menuhax, put off updating this long because I didn't really see a need to. Now that I've done it, I'm glad I did. The 100% boot rate alone is worth it. Follow this guide https://3ds.guide/ It'll tell you all the files you need to download and how to use them.

Before you start, make a backup of the contents of your sd card onto your computer. Now, I ran into only one problem during the install and it was because of some sort of conflict with menuhax. To get rid of menuhax, delete the home menu's exdata folder on the computer. Depending on your console's region it'll be one of these,

• EUR Region: Delete 00000098
• JPN Region: Delete 00000082
• USA Region: Delete 0000008f
• CHN Region: Delete 000000A1

Well, the problem I ran into was after installing boot9strap, at the final step of "Section III: Configuring Luma 3DS." After pressing START to reboot, I received an error saying, "An exception occurred Processor: ARM11." Since the guide said "If you get and error, just continue to the next page," I continued with "Finalizing Setup" until I had to turn the 3DS back on and the error was still there. Holding SELECT during power up didn't bring up the setup menu like a lot of threads suggested, and the simplest solution I found was to get rid of the home menu's exdata folder. So while that definitely doesn't happen to everyone with menuhax, I think it's best to just take a few seconds and get rid of it ahead of time.

As of this time I believe they removed the rxtools to luma, Or I just can't find it. Can recommend another tutorial to do this so I can proceed with the 3ds guide. I can't seem to go from rxtools to B9S, or I just don't have the knowledge to do so.

Basically you have to hack your 3DS as if it's never been hacked before, to install B9S. Then you have to move emunand to sysnand and delete emunand from the SD. And you're done

New unhacked "New 2DS"? You'll need a magnet and an ntrboot compatible flashcard. Or one with ntrboot installed on it already such as the R4i gold plus. For about $20, you can essentially hack any 3DS you want using that cartridge and magnet.

My EmuNAND is on fw 10.6.0 and my SysNAND is running 9.2.0.
Tbh, I'm completely out and I'm not even sure what I need to do and what I'm running. (Havent done anything for like 2 years on my 3ds....)
