Anyone have any thoughts about:
I just grabbed the dump of Star Fox 2 from the snes mini. I have tried it using all four of the cores I have (normally 2005 works fine) -PSTV of course. I changed the video settings recommended in the help section. Turn threaded video on, etc.
The game is "playable" just to get a taste of it but it runs choppy. Decent game from what I could tell.

Tell me more about the Supergrafx, please. I remember seeing it for grey import back in the day (we didn't even get a PC Engine in Europe). Wiki says it only added 6 games to the PC Engine library that were enchanced (And I thought the PS4 Pro was a kick in the proverbials lol. Guess this practise is older than I thought!).
Sorry... I think we did get a PC Engine just not a TurboGrafx

To quote the OP "SNES (Snes9x 2005): ~55fps - 60fps on standard games, ~50fps on SuperFX-powered games.".

That may be a little outdated and even too generous. I couldn't even get Starfox 1 or Stunt Race FX running at an acceptable level lol. Cool that Starfox 2 finally saw the light of day (officially). How is it? Retroach is great though. Just a shame that you can pretty much consider most Super FX games as non functional on the Vita.

I am not a Nintendo fanboy, but I have to be honest, when I find a good way I am going to play it. No I am not buying a snes mini either haha.
It looks good. For some reason it reminds me of Silpheed for Sega CD. I never/barely actually played Star Fox 1 back in the day so it's kind of a treat.
And you are correct, it runs @ 50fps+/- :( :(.

This makes sense now. I've played several snes game that are 99% period correct to me. None were the Super FX ones though either.
Is there a core or other emu platform in existence that will run these at 60fps? I'm doubting so but my hopes are high!

Well I also won't be be buying a Snes mini and Nintendo's recent DCMA practices leave a bad taste in my mouth. They are, of course, fully entitled to stop people emulating their products. I did own both Starfox (Starwing) and Stunt Race FX and played the shit out of them though.

It's a WIP, I started Yoshi's Island day one on the Vita (when RetroArch arrived), and it was a fun hazzle. Today I think it runs pretty decent.

I know and it's great that the Retroach devs have been making the Vita version possible. I never said all Super Fx games. I think Yoshi's Island ran well. Try a "3d" game though. If you have any tips they will be much appreciated!

I'm sry, I did not played one of those. To be honest, never did it in it's time, and now, with emulators, I think they are awfull and don't deserve my time xD.

That's ok. I certainly did play them on the original hardware. I personally love emulation but respect you not liking it.

I was talking about 3d games on the SNES. Seriusly, 5 years ago I bought the original catdridge of StarFox and when I tried it on TV couldn't understand what's happened. It was really awfull, I wasn't able to disting one frame of another. What's an enemy? what's a wall?... It was unexpectedly hard.

P.D.: @Smoker1 U are right, the all in one doesn't have the missing .selfs either.

Well it was a pretty early example of such things. I think the last time I played it, I realised just how primative and how "on rails" it was. I still loved it as a kid and all of the SuperFX stuff was amazing considering they could pull it off on a Snes. I'm now remembering loving possibly the worst port of Doom lol (actually maybe that title belongs to the 32X lol!) I read about the ports of that recently and found it very entertaining. I hope it's ok to put a link here...

Nope. I forgot. The 3DO one was the worst!

Speaking of 3DO....the best port for Road Rash is on 3DO, great soundtrack too. I recently tried 4DO and it runs good on my decent pc.
No thread jack. Gizmo brought up Panasonic and there is actually one thing it was good for. hehe
If anyone reading is a RR fan you should try it.

That was a cool version of Road Rash. I haven't tried 4DO but did try out FreeDo a few years back. Sorry I am adding to getting this thread even more off topic. My apologies and will stop now lol!

Hi, I installed the 1.67 all in one vpk and after trying Street Alpha 2, Darkstalker and Alien vs Predator all with FBA-Alpha, none of those games ran at 60fps. Threaded Option enabled and disabled, Vsync on and off... is that supposed to be right? In the OP it says that it was supposed to run at 60fps... thanks in advance

I've barked a few times about SGX but it's never happened.
Ok. That is it. I have had enough. No more waiting for someone to program a Superfrafx emulator for the PSV.
I am gonna do it myself!
I am a top BASIC programmer and I will code evrything in basic.
Here are the first two lines I wrote

10 PRINT “THIS IS THE ULTIMATE SUPERGRAFX EMULATOR FOR PS VITA”
20 PRINT “COPYRIGHT DAVIDGILMOUR 2017”
RUN

Just did a test myself and so far these two lines run perfect 100% on my PS Vita.
Update soon!

I have a question...
I installed cores i need and put roms on ux0:/ and in their separate folders...now whenever i start a core and whenever i change roms i need to go through all folders just to choose a game. can core remember last location or ...?
use the history tab for a quick access to recent played games.
Use the favorite button to select specific games you want to get quick access.
And configure retroarch to point to the root folder where you keep your console folders. In my case: ux0 /data/roms

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
You should update the 360 to newest dash before RGHing it yes. But not a big deal if you don't, you can install new dash/avatar updates after. It's just easier to do it auto online before, instead manual offline after.
