already tried reinstalling it didnt work, ill try 3dsx now

it freezes to a black screen when i try to load it through the homebrew launcher, im gonna try removing my themes folder and my splashes folder and if that doesnt work i might just give up on it, cause im getting sick of trying to get this to work.

once i removed the themes it worked, do you know if it has a limit to how many themes it can have? because i have over 1k themes and i think thats why it wasnt loading.

For me just nothing happens. I press L lots of times pointing to QR code on both sites, and no download, no message, no crashes. I will try again.

Try increasing the contract (lowering your screen brightness helps a lot with this) or zooming in a bit to make the QR codes bigger - also, the 3ds camera is very low resolution, so make sure the QR code is centered and taking up most of the screen.

Now it worked on first time. Didn't need to change contrast, maybe cause it's night time. But I tried lots os times when it not worked... go figure.

After I press L to scan, it pauses for about a second, but no new theme appears in the list. I have been able to scan QR codes for installs through FBI. I tried again just now with lowered screen brightness in case the problem resolved itself like it did for juniorcba, but still nothing. I've tried both the cia version from home and the 3dsx version from the homebrew launcher. I also can't get themes to shuffle for some reason. I press B on both to queue them, but after I press select on one to install, it unqueue's both themes.

Honestly, I'm just thankful to have a single custom theme, but if it's something easy to fix on my end, I want to fix it.

If it just pauses, and nothing happens, you didn't scan the QR - try again.

Weirdly, as of today QR scanning works perfectly! Yesterday, I had tried many times, with different QR codes from the two different theme sites, at various lighting settings and times of day. Now, I can take a less than perfect shot and it works on the first try.

I know this is the previous version, but in this video (starting at 5:00), the shuffle icon that appears when pressing B remains on all of the themes after pressing select to install each one as a shuffle theme. For mine, the icon instantly disappears after installing the first shuffle theme.

Yeah, we changed that in some version after this video was made.

New version, 1.2.2 up, get it on github. Mostly minor bugfixes, nothing groundbreaking.

That’s the only reason I still use the sketchy app Themely. I’d help but, computer is busted. I’m a noob coder. The sooner it gets fixed the sooner I delete Themely.

I use last version Anemone3DS (v1.2.2) and it's showing error when I open the app Anemone.

You need to change the default theme to something else in order to create the initial extdata. Change the theme to one of the included color themes and try again.
