Homebrew Which 3DS should I buy for homebrew in September 2017?

I found a used deal of a new 3DS XL for Rs 8000(125USD) and it has 9.9 firmware,but my dad doesn't believe in used products,so i gotta change his mind so that he buys me that one!(unused 3ds costs 22000(220USD) in my country!)

The stupid taxes and delivery charge would increase the price a LOT, it would be just 10% cheaper from the price over here. Not worth it imo.

You should buy the fresh New Nintendo 2DS and mod it with a cheap R4i Gold RTS 3DS. You'll spend 140€ cc. (with every tax included; my prices are for Italy [where the taxes are major than any other Europe country ahah).
So you're fine.

What about refurbished from Nintendo? They usually come with a low firmware and they look near mint if not in mint condition. Old 2DSes go for like $60(USD) and 3DS XLs go for $175(USD). That's the route I went for my both of my consoles. It's worth a look.

Both of my refurbished consoles came with well under the required firmwares. My 2DS was 8.1 and my N3DS XL was 9.6. When I asked about how they loaded the firmwares after they refurbished them, I was told the flash the latest firmware at the time of the repairs and then they go into stock and there's a lot of stock so the chances of you getting an early enough firmware is pretty good.

Personally, I love the O2DS, it's really comfortable to play on, just wish the screen was bigger. And for $60 you really can't go wrong, I mean both my consoles looked brand new, couldn't find one thing wrong with them cosmetically.

For your situation, refurbished is probably the best route for you.

I'm from the US so I don't know much about other countries as far as shipping and what's available. I do know Brazil has it rough in that department as well. I feel for you guys and gals, I'd loose it if I couldn't get something that is readily available almost everywhere else.

@harsh477 I got mine from playasia. Delivery is usually within 1-2 weeks if your documents are okay. Had a 9.0.0E firm on it.(Total cost was like 20000 rupees, you can probably find a cheaper one on ebay)
