How to install Retrix (Retroarch/Libretro port) for Xbox One

Prerequisite - Requires Dev mode to be activated so you can sideloadd apps. If you don't already have it you can find more information here. https://www.windowscentral.com/how-activate-dev-mode-your-xbox-one-console

Retrix(LibretroRT) is a massive project aimed at porting all libretro cores to UWP. It currently supports Nes,Snes,Sega Master System,Sega Game gear, Sega CD, sg 1000, Playstation, Gameboy, Gameboy advance, and many more to be ported soon. This guide will cover installing Retrix for your xbox one console.

[1.] Download ProjectPgeasus (If you already have ProjectPegasus this step doesn't apply)
https://github.com/wiired24/ProjectPegasus/raw/master/ProjectPegasusSetup.exe

[2.] Once Installed just open it up and select RetriX. Now just wait for it to download. All you have to do now is Sideload Retrix on to your Xbox One (If you don't know how, follow the full guide here https://github.com/wiired24/ProjectPegasus/blob/master/binaries/Installing APPX Packages.pdf )

[3.] Enjoy! :yayone:

Retrix brings with it support for local 2 player something we have not had until now. It also opens the floodgates to every single emulator that is currently inside the scope of the libretro project. You can see a full list here https://github.com/libretro

I had been sitting on releasing Retrix for quite a bit now but it has finally reached a point where it is stable enough for release. Credit goes to Albertofustonini for creating and maintaining the Retrix Project. Credit also goes to @kingtut for advocating for a Libretro/Retroarch port for Xbox One. You can follow current development on the official github page https://github.com/Aftnet/LibretroRT

Sorry for the noob question, but when sideloading ROMs, does the flash drive need to be formatted a certain way? Fat32?

yeah, I actually tried to implement the code myself. but I saw a memo in the code saying that you analog control has problems. So I didn't bother.

The moment you have been waiting for has come:

Arcade (Final Burn Alpha) support is in!

Get the latest RetriX from https://www.retrix.me/

A few words of warning:

The included Final Burn Alpha is 0.2.97.42. Use romsets for that version or something close enough. And do not rename those zip files, since the core uses filenames to detect which game/system to emulate.

BIOS files (neogeo.zip): your best bet is to get that from a romset - a 0.2.97.39 one should do.

Sorry for all the Qs guys. So for FBA, a little confused b/c in the video, it looks like the NeoGeo icon is launched along with the neogeo.zip bios is it? Can't really tell.

I have NeoGeo ROMs and I also have the FBA 0.2.97.39 Romset.
The Romset has 7 zip files with a format like this: FB Alpha v0.2.97.39 Non-Merged.zip.001

Which ones do I use? Are they interchangeable? Do I create an FBA folder and drop all 7 zip files from the FBA romset?
Or do I use the NeoGeo ROMs under a separate NeoGeo folder? And which icon on Retrix do I launch? The NeoGeo or the FBA?

if they are .001 .002 etc you need to extract them all first they should be separate games with a .zip example mvsc.zip bucky.zip etc

the neogeo.zip is your bios and you need add them into the emulator under settings

edit: there is a neo geo icon but i used the fba icon to lauch neo geo and fba so it'll be fine

Ah ok..so do I just import the neogeo.zip per the process you show in your Retrix video?

Do I create an FBA folder and just dump all the extracted zipped game files in? I assume it doesn't even really matter what the folder is called.

the folder doesnt matter what it's called as long as you have access to it

the process i show in my video is what i said it's under the settings menu where all the other bios go

only the .001 .002 etc files need to be extracted not the .zip files

@dominater01 Ok, so do I only unzip .001? Or do I unzip each one separately? Because after I unzipped the .001 file, which took quite a while, it produced a FB Alpha v0.2.97.39 Non-Merged folder and within there contained a FB Alpha v0.2.97.39 roms folder.
In that FB Alpha v0.2.97.39 roms folder there were different folders based on different consoles, Coleco, TG16, Gamegear, etc. and then there was a Roms folder as well.

Which roms do I copy over? Can I copy over all of them? Will this play Coleco, TG16, Gamegear, games as well?

And thanks for the tip about renaming them.
