After you completed the following
MattKimura's Wii U hacking guide ←(you only need steps I-III)

1. Download the game files which contains 258 files, i renamed the '00050000101C9500' folder to 'Z1' (final version with the uncorrupted files should be 259 files, 10,551,280,012 bytes)
2. Download the .tik file and rename it to title.tik (be sure you have extensions enabled or you can mess up and rename it to title.tik.tik if your extensions are hidden)
3. Place the title.tik files in the game folder (you should now have 259 files with the tik added on)
4. Download the update (the one from MEGA) and put it in a folder named Z2
5. On your SD card you need to have a folder called 'install' where you will place the game folder and the update folder (name those 2 folders Z1=the actual game and Z2=update)
[Also installing on NAND is much quicker than USB]

6. Insert the SD card into the Wii U and turn it on
7. Run a CFW (Mocha doesn't require anything special to set up so use it if you don't have one)
8. Run homebrew channel → WUP install GX2 → install the Z1 folder first.
9. For safe measure reboot and repeat steps 6,7 &8, but this time install Z2, the game update.
10. (Optional) Go to your internet settings of the WiiU → your connection and change the connection SSID name by adding a 0, that way your wiiu isn't connected once you start your gameplay just as a precaution so your WiiU doesn't get banned!
11. Once both files are installed press home, exit MiiMaker, start the game and have fun


Error: If you get an error saying something about Sig patcher, you can download and install an app from the HomebBrew App Store under 'Tools' named 'SigPatcher2HBL' and/or 'SigPatcher2sysmenu', load them and retry install!

Enjoy.

Remember if you don't want to play this game using your WiiU pad, you can install HID TO VPAD from the HomebBrew App Store under 'Tools' and play BotW using your PS4 controller! (tutorial for that is also in MattKimura's Wii U hacking guide)

The Tik site, I've looked at it and downloaded a couple of .tik files for games before, but have never seen update .tiks

Are they labeled as 'patch'?

It now says "Preparing update". I've played a few hours ago and it was ok.

I have updates blocked by DNS and the game installed via OP and mocha CFW since feb 28th.

EDIT: ok, I need the v33. I will conserv my save right? (I'm 60+ hours in)

Hey guys, I'm losing my mind so I thought I could come to you since the discord channel apparently disappeared (?)

I've been trying to install this game for 3 days, at first it didn't show the Install folder, so I formatted my sd and tried again, same thing again. I decided to follow the gba temp guide and this time it is indeed showing my Install folder, but everytime I try to install it, it says "not a game, game update, dlc, demo or version title". I've tried launching mocha before and not launching mocha.

I literally don't know what to do and I'm honestly starting to feel really stupid. Would appreciate some help because I might be overlooking something, who knows.

Two quick questions:

1) Do you have a "ticket.tik" file in the folder for the install files?
2) Does your install folder for the game include subdirectories?

You should not need to use Mocha at all unless you are using a release from a different region than your console and you do not region patch.

You may have the Loadiine-ready version of the files, which will not work for installation.

Yes and no, I downloaded the game with wii u usb helper and used it to put it in my sd too. Tried many different sources. I know I don't have the loadiine version because I use loadiine for some other games and I'm familiarised with it

Yep everything seems to be fine which is what's driving me crazy, I just have no idea what I'm doing wrong :/

Random edit: I notice my ticket is called title, can that be what's wrong?

The correct name is "title.tik". I am the dumb.

I did but it gives me the same error, there was a point where I thought it could be my sd but then loadiine games wouldn't work. I'm afraid I'm just an idiot lol

Edit: Guys, the problem was my sd card. So if anyone is having the same problem, just make sure your sd card is legit, mine wasn't as it was bought off ebay. Buy it locally even if you end up spending more. It's worth it!

I'm currently having an issue. I've installed BotW and the update successfully. However, each time the game loads it prompts me to update the game. I then choose to skip and continue without updates. After the game loads, it gets stuck at a window stating I need to update my Wii U firmware when it's already at the latest firmware version.

Hi,
I managed to successfully do the trick for SM Kart 8, but I didn't for Zelda BotW. Because I can't manage to find the Free DLC the Nintendo eShop.
I was wondering if it is not anymore available (since the initial post is 4 years old) or if it is due to the fact the version I installed was directly the v1.5 (so including the upgrade v1.2 which is the same than the Free DLC as far as I understood).
If this answer is the latest, question: do I have to reinstall with a version <1.2 then download the v1.2? Would it work? Would it make the free DLC available again, allowing me to have a legit ticket for this DLC?

Another (a bit extreme) option I envisaged was to delete the files corresponding to this language pack (000000018.*, size around 800Mb, from the top of my head, but I have to find the thread where I read that to check). Would it force the software to redownload these files (and more importantly the ticket associated with this DLC)?

Unlikely, I don't know if it's still available. Plus, to downgrade you'd need to hex the versions.bin file. Not hard really, but I don't think that will solve the issue.

yeah, that's what I figured. I don't know if the free dlc is still available, but it should work with any dlc, so you could buy the cheapest one.
