Yes!

I don't really understand why we need to load the modified mocha though.
Other apps can read from sd without using this modified version, so why does tcpgecko need it?
And after loading mocha, I can't use directly open the hb channel?
I have haxchi installed, I'm not really sure how else to get into the hb channel without loading it from the home menu, without using the web exploit but for 5.5.2 it's annoying to use.
I don't know anything about the mii maker method, I have had my wii u for less than a week :D

Anyway, this is great new thank you for all the work everyone involved.

Because it doesn't have permissions to do it anywhere like when you load arbitrary titles.

Oh because tcpgecko is running in the background when we want it to load codes from the sd card, and it needs higher permissions - I get it :)

A future idea could be to, load tcpgecko/cheat app, select the cheats we want - these are loaded into ram from the sd card (within the app, so no modified mocha needed)
Start the game, and the codes are already there.

If we can get this sd card access patch added to haxchi, that would be great too.
I'm not so sure how viable that is, @FIX94 is that something that would be accepted in your haxchi?

It would quite easy to create a version that works with any cfw (via libfat)

As far as I remember he already said that he won't add this into haxchi/CBHC (read pages 1-2 of the FSHax thread)

Please help me! I installed all of the necessary files on the SD card and put it in my wii u. Then I installed and ran JGecko U. It did not auto detect the wii U, so I put in the wii U IP address. However, it comes up with an error page every time I click connect.

Right this is seriously doing my head in. I'm sure a million people found this useful but I can't seem to get it to work for the life of me!

The biggest issue I have is how cluttered and confusing everything is. The guide points to so many different files we need, to different guides and they all ask for different steps and different files even for the same app. Like 3 links for the gecko app for the sd card, and each link has a different number of files???? Then there's multiple video guides, one replaces the other but still not up to date? I'm ripping my hair out here guys.

Can someone PLEASE explain in simple steps exactly what I need to do to make this thing work.

I'm using Haxchi, do I still need to run the mwj44.ml exploit??? Can I not just run tcpgecko from the HBL?

It lets me do it, I get the IP address. I DO NOT get the code handler cosmocortney option. I downladed the one from the benning of this guide. deleted that, downloaded the one from the cosmo guide deleted that. Nothing brings that up.

But i carried on anyway, it gave me the option to install just the code handler tcpgecko or that + sd database option or something using x. Tried both methods, it takes me back to the main menu.

At this point I'm guessing it's ok so far. Launch a game, tried both mario kart 8 and monster hunter 3u. Actually gone into the game, went back to my pc. launched jgeckoU. cant connect, tried manually, cant connect.....

Why is this so difficult and why is there so much conflicting information cluttering everything gees.

Please someone save me!

It's because it gets updated and it's very simple. Just use your brain and read what the installer says. The rest is obviously identical with connecting and whatnot.

Like I said. I did all that. But you have a video showing one guide, then another one meant to be 'updated' showing something else, still not exactly what I should be doing.

Linking to other threads which use different files etc.

It's not as straight forward as you make it out to be when you've got a bunch of useless files and links that are not needed.

Going to try the 3rd video now to see if the manual way is any better.

There aren't any "useless" files you lazy ass. Just follow one guide and use your brain to figure out what changed a little lol. All you have to do is download the TCP Gecko Installer, put it to your SD card and download JGecko U. Then you run the TCP Gecko Installer to install it and connect with JGecko U. Done. If it doesn't work it's your fault for not doing it correctly. Amazing how people can't figure these most simple 2 steps out. It's literally not possible to make it easier than this. The Gecko U Updater is only for downloading all files you need so clearly it's not useless if you meant that. It has been created to make sure people get the right files because it's so damn hard to click on multiple links and sort things out yourself.

I've done this though... Can your smart ass clarify a few things then.

Does it make a difference if I'm using haxchi or not?

Do I still have to run the web exploit or can I just go straight in to HBL and run the gecko installer?

And lastly, should I use the gecko installer found at the beginning of this thread or the gecko updater and download the files then manually copy them over to SD?

No. All don't matter, just do what it says.
