I'm going to pirate the shit out of this game!
...I was going to buy it - specifically, the Legacy Edition - but after the pre-orders sold out within a matter of minutes (thanks for making such a limited quantity Nintendo, you twats) I decided that they must want me to pirate it! I would've probably bought the amiibos too (as the only amiibos I already own are the two versions of Samus), but they can kiss those sales bye-bye too.

Nintendo taking on-disc (or in this case on-cartridge) DLC to a whole new level.
Extra health, extra ammo and extra content all locked behind a physical item.

How is that extra content? Extra ammo/health is only a quantity increase, so it doesn't matter if you're good enough at the game. And Fusion mode is compeltely optional, there's already a Hard Mode in the game.

NVM I found out you can spoof amiibos with an android phone. Like hell I'm going to pay cash to unlock a difficulty mode. Also doesn't 100% -ing the game mean anything anymore?? You can't do that unless you unlock everything in the game including the extra energy tank and missle ammo...

Errr..., since when does 100%ing a game include Amiibo optional content? 100%ing BOTW doesn't mean yuou have to buy all of the compatible amiibos.

Correct because as far as I'm aware it doesn't hide anything behind amiibos. All the content is locked behind DLC which is paid. Metroid hides an additional difficulty mode, unlockable art scans (which you can unlock in other games by beating the main game 100%), a music test mode and the stuff mentioned before.

BOTW locks clothes and weapons behind amiibo.

If you want to obtain all of the armor and weapons for BoTW you need amiibos though. Granted they don't count towards 100% but for completionists and people with OCD it's on a whole other level.

BOTW does indeed hide features behind amiibo.
