Okay so I have a friend who whats to start modding his Wii the Way i got mine set up but not sure What Frame-ware he is running since it has not been updated in awhile but for sure he knows it's not the Current 5.5.2.

My question is What is the Least version of Frame-ware below 5.5.1u that can run CFW. He wants me to fix his like mine but since i did not Configure mine myself I'm not really the person to ask. I can put the files and everything else on his wii but not sure if it will run the CFW. It's one of those older white 8gb Wii U's.

He don't want to use it for Codes or Trainer just to play the Games and do everything Legit without buying the Games.

First he needs to block System Updates via DNS.

Second he needs one of the games that have the 5.5.1 update on this disc. It only works with the physical versions of the games, digital versions will not work.

Check out Kafluke's Noob Guide for a list of Physical WiiU Games that have the 5.5.1 firmware update on the disc.

One of those games i can remember is, Zelda Breath of the Wild. I can't remember the other ones.

After you get one of the games on this list, just pop it in and try to play it, it will ask you to install the update. Install it, and then you will be on 5.5.1. Then you can follow the guide like normal.

Haxchi and most homebrew does not work on firmware below 5.5.1.

Thanks for the tips but I talked to Kafluke and the Noob guide he made with the list of games with update 5.5.1 on has been removed and he can't remember either.
Are you 100% sure that Breath of the Wild has the Update on Disc before I go Buy it for 1x uses. Can you Remember if Paper Mario has update 5.5.1 on disc someone commented about it have the update I read.

Yes, I'm sure the BOTW physical disc has 5.5.1.

I've also read on redit that a user used Paper Mario Color Splash to update to 5.5.1.

I've also found an old post on here with a list of games that "May" have the 5.5.1 update on the disc.

28.06. LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens
24.06. Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games
24.06. Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE
24.06. Mighty No. 9
23.06. Terraria
08.06. The Book of Unwritten Tales 2
22.04. Star Fox Zero

If you have one or some of those games, try them and see if one of the works. It can't hurt to try.

Thanks for the Information. Yeah I read a Post on the forums here that said Paper Mario Splash had the update as well be was not sure. I've been trying to find a Used Copy of either BOTW or Paper Mario Splash but can't find 1 Cheap enough for a 1x use for the update. I also read that other post about the old list but sadly I've never bought a any of those Games since I set up my Wii a while back. Had Bayonetta 2 and Hyrule Warriors when i first started but sold them right after i got into downloading games from WiiU USB.

If you have a gamestop near you, you could buy one of those games Used, and gamestop gives you a 7 day money back policy thing. Which means you can get your money back within 7 days of buying the game. But it only works for used games.

And I don't know if all Gamestop's does that, so you will have to ask them first.

Then when you go to bring the game back to them for your money back, if they ask you what's wrong with it, just tell them your little brother didn't want a video game for his birthday, he wanted something else from another store. or something like that.

It use to work all the time for me. lol.

Yeah I have 1 Gamestop within walking distance but they don't do money back on Used Opened Games only return for a game of equal value. BOTW is still 50.00 and Paper Mario Splash is 39.99 @ my local gamestop. Trying to find them cheaper but no going well. I have a friend who works @ the gamestop but I don't know if he can use his employee discount for a game for me to return in 2 hours after buying it or next day. I'm tight on Cash myself and the only reason i'm helping him out is because we are in the same boat with no Funds to buy games and he don't own a computer to do the work himself.

Damn that sucks. If I had an extra BOTW disc, I would send it to you. But I collect all Zelda games, because I'm a huge fan of the series. I even bought the Collectors Edition of the Strategy Guide lol. If I didn't need my copy, I would deffinetly send it to you.

My copy hasn't even been opened, I bought it and put it on a shelf with the other Zelda games, and downloaded BOTW via USB Helper. That's one way to keep games in mint condition. lol.

I'll search around on Google to see if I can find anything for you.

Yeah, that's to be expected. The update will fix that when it comes out.

Hey. So the new trainer update connects fine but any of the cheats do not work. My game is Ver. 1.3.1 and the DLC is Ver. 2.0

Also when i press Refresh Code Tab after a few seconds the trainer crashes with the message BotwTrainer stopped working.

I just tested them on the latest release from Panda's repo, and they seem to be working. No crash, either. Are you running the latest version of Bully's TCPGecko installer and waiting until you get into your savegame before you connect? Is your WiiU on 5.5.1 or 5.5.2?

My Wii U is on 5.5.1
I downloaded this elf so it must be the latest version. It was uploaded 1 day ago. https://github.com/BullyWiiPlaza/tcpgecko/blob/master/tcpgecko.elf
I started a new game at the beginning and enabled the infinite stamina code to see if the code worked but it didn't. I don't have java on my PC as required by the Gecko-U-Updater. I manually downloaded TCP Gecko at the link earlier in this post.
