SUPER SIDEKICKS 2 slows down a lot, kinda like staggers, any fix to the unibios? Thinks it has to be that because the previous unibios had missing rasters and this new one fixes that but doesnt manage to make it run smooth like other neo geo roms. Or anyone that has it working nicely will maybe share a link to a good rom.

Please try version 1.14 from github just to make sure your bug is not already fixed.

Just to make 100% sure, please check that your "universe bios screen" looks like this (but with version 3.2 not 3.3):

IMG_6702.png

Not some gray rectangle "warning" window asking you to press a key, right? If you get a "warning" window and not the above universe bios screen then your Universe bios is not working correctly in PFBA.

Otherwise, if you still get flickering even with the latest version, we have to find a way how I can reproduce the problem on my system because I don't see the flickering you mentioned. Once I can reproduce it I can fix it hopefully.

Is there an example rom that loads pretty fast where you see the flickering? Is there still flickering if you use some other bios, different than unibios?

Thanks for your help. I installed 1.14 and replaced the unibios rom and some of the games that were causing problems before (Samurai Shodown V) don't have the issue with the flickering sides anymore. A couple of games off the top of my head that still have the issue on the first startup are Art of Fighting 3 and Samurai Shodown IV.

I do get that Bios screen that you posted with v3.2 shown. I haven't tested any other bios since being able to use the unibios in v1.09.

Is this two players local or just one player?

On VitaTV, PFBA supports multiple players upto four. You have to sync all your controllers to the VitaTV before starting the PFBA app, because it only checks for the number of controllers on program startup.

On the Vita handheld it is limited to one player.

That sucks. Having a portable machine where me and my friends can play Marvel vs. Capcom or Windjammers would’ve been awesome....

Hello, I'm having some small difficulties w pfba that maybe is just me being dumb with pfba:
1) TMNT Turtles in time, I can get it to proper fps without sound and w sound only if I do frameskip, but the frame skip is just too much, is there some specific settings that work best with the game? any way to adjust the frame skip on pfba?
2) As far as artwork, I used some snaps from the retroarch library but only a few show up on pfba, is there a way to add snaps automatically when loading a game or what I'm doing wrong? is PFBA using the zip filename or the title like retroarch uses for their naming conventions?
TIA :)

TMNT works perfectly on Mame 2000 (Retroarch).

Hmm, now I myself seem to have become victim of the "no roms are showing" bug.

I just got my SD2Vita adapter. I formatted the SD card. I copied everything over. I booted with the SD card mounted as ux0.

PFBA shows no roms! They are all there!

If I instead boot from my normal memory card, which has identical files and folders, all the roms appear just fine!

I saw several users had this problem. But has anybody found a solution?

Change to show only avaible ROMs. Worked for me.

I already tried that but it didn't work. I will try reformatting the card and copying things over from the memory card to the sd card from within vitashell.

I noticed some of my directories changed from lowercase to uppercase when copying via Windows and ftp, so maybe some file permissions got messed up or something.

EDIT: Ok now it works again even when booting from SD card. The solution was to erase everything on the SD card that I copied using ftp and Windows. Then I mounted the empty sd card as uma0: and used Vitashell to copy everything from ux0: (memorycard) to uma0: (sd card). It took about 5 hours because I have a 64 GB memorycard. I had to plugin the power supply to make sure the Vita doesn't die while copying. Then I changed the gamesd plugin to the one where it mounts the sd card as ux0: on bootup. Now all the roms are working.

My theory is that when I copied files via ftp and windows, even though I made sure I copied all hidden and system files, some file attributes got messed up or something. The copy was not exact. For example, some folder names changed from lowercase to UPPERCASE, indicating that it was not an exact copy. Also, I had to update database on reboot and had to refresh livearea because some bubbles were missing when I booted from the SD card. On the other hand, after copying everything via Vitashell using only the Vita itself, I seem to have created an exact copy of the folders and files onto the SD card. For example all the cases of filenames are the same, I did not have to refresh database or livearea, etc.
