hey, just wondering how you guys are doing? is there anything the average person can do to help?
Things have slowed significantly, since I don't have much time to work on it these days. I have no intention of dropping the project though, so don't worry on that front. As for what you could do to help, there really isn't much unless you or someone you know has a decent grasp of Japanese and abundant free time to help with translating, as I haven't heard from one of the other people who were helping for quite a while.

well, my best friend is japanese, but he's very busy. I could do some machine translation and run it by him for accuracy perhaps?

Machine translation isn't really good enough for the level of quality I want out of this, even if you have a friend check it. It's good as a tool to help translate, but the person doing it needs a solid base of Japanese knowledge already to use it well for that, since Japanese to English machine translation is still not great. Thank you very much for the offer, though!

Hello, I'm currently working on this project as a translator, and want to apologize for the current pace of the project. Even though things are going pretty slow right now, we will definitely continue working and get everything done.
I also want to thank everyone for your support, knowing that there is people out there looking forward to play the game keeps us motivated.

While you wait for the translation of MM3, you should try Metal Saga on PS2 and Metal Max Returns on SNES, since both are great games available in english.

Hi there!
I am very sorry for my silence lately. I've been pretty busy researching things and looking here and there. Working on giving the best possible finishing to the graphics of MM3. Also going one step forward and finalizing certain details for our possible next project (maybe MM4 ???) who knows?? We will continue working until MM3 sees the light in English. Thanks to all for be there.

wow, you guys are honestly the nicest translation crew I have ever seen. I'm sure I speak for everyone here when I say that we appreciate what you guys are doing so much. If any of you live near or ever visit NYC, I would love to get you drunk to show my gratitude.

Does this mean you nearly finished translating MM3? Though, I think it would be a good idea to translate MM2: Reloaded first because it probably has less text than MM4 and is more pivotal to the series.

No, we aren't anywhere near finished. He's just looking really far into the future. I haven't had a chance to play MM4 myself yet, but I'd want to do MM2:R first anyway. I wouldn't say it's pivotal to the series, though. The games aren't really connected except for how the apocalypse came about, and any references between them are just there for fun, not plot.

In regards to text quantity, I'd say that, although it has less plot in the main story, MM2:R has just as much dialogue as MM3 thanks to all the side content, of which there is a lot. This is a Metal Max game, after all; 95% of the game is side content.

Found the following issue: 2017/10/06

It happens when you insert the translated text into "PAINT_COLORLIST.NAM". I have noticed that the inserter leaves a pointer without recalculating at position 104DB06-104DB07 in Arm9.bin. (Please see attached catch). Also drop a screen capture in-game of the issue the text should be "Tiger Stripe" in the third line. DarthNemesis could you please take a look at the problem. Thank you very much in advance for all your precious help to this project.

Also I put the PAINT_COLORLIST.NAM file with the translations.

Hey there, just discovering the Metal Max series and was so disappointed to learn that the majority of them have never been officially released in English. I really appreciate the efforts of fan translation teams such as yourselves and just, wanted to let you know that there's one more person looking forward to this project being complete (Patiently, mind you, I've been through this before waiting for the Mother 3 translation)

I'm sorry I can't contribute anything tangible, but I'm at least rooting for y'all.
