I have still remained unbanned after all of this time. Ive been playing smash bros happily with my friend that just got a 3ds. I just recently uninstalled all of the homebrew from my homemenu and am using youtube as a base for 3dsx format stuff. 8.1.1 Luma's Rosalina is so stable compared to 8.0/8.1's. What homebrew isnt in 3dsx format??? Everything I've seen has a 3dsx format.
What @Freya has said is basically all that you can do to prevent yourself from being banned...

I'm actually surprised that I am still not banned yet. I see it coming eventually, but I havent touched homebrew for a very long time. Like a year before this ban wave has happened. So that could be a big reason why. Ive had all of those settings off since I touched this thing. I cross my fingers every time I boot this thing up :rofl2:

@The Real Jdbye https://gbatemp.net/threads/update-regarding-the-recent-3ds-banwave.471781/ has the info that explains what is sent and how to avoid the bans. (For whoever asked that question) lol
Thanks. @Olmectron The details I was talking about are near the bottom of that post.

3DS online if is pointless. The only game where it might be nice is mk7 and that is a streach.

My particular banning (last one delivered August 3), the more I think about it, is related to being online for too long through Pokemon SM, and that's because I'm the sole person doing genning requests in one subreddit, as well as requests from 3 leagues (which adds up to between 6-12 requests a week, which is not significant in comparison). They have all been temporary, exactly 28 days, and it's definitely tied to online. I'm at a point where I want to shove CFW down Pokemon player's throats, have them do the shit themselves, because I hardly go online when it's nothing to do with requests. To clarify, the live memory editing plus being online for too long, I think they're catching on. I've been waiting 15 minutes for someone to do a link trade, and just now another person posted a link trade request, it does put me at risk and I have tried putting the console to sleep more and more, though now with wifi toggle on Luma, I may shift to that.

And just general, online and Pokemon go hand in hand, battling, trading, event distributions, Global Link goes through weekly maintenance for a reason, Pokemon online is massive.

Smash 4, Pokemon moon, swapnote, every 3ds monster Hunter, and funny enough not much animal crossing but on occasion.
I didn't play pokemon moon online. I think my hands are too big for the 3DS despite having the XL , too big to confortably play anything competitive online without it hurting my hands.

Either way, youre banned. So you had to have done something that triggered the ban. Playing online with homebrew will do that to ya. Or custom games. Anything with a fake title id.
It's not known if it does that to you for sure. I've never played it safe and I don't care if I'm banned, and so far, neither one of my 3DSes have been banned.

New hbl has no issues and it launches quickly and never errors on launch which the hax payload one did sometimes. I have all my homebrew in 3dsx and it works fine just using patch arm9 in luma when i want to use luma updater.
Ok, so there's something I had no idea about. Arm9 patching is for 3dsx homebrew? Do they have to be updated to take advantage or does doing so automagically make them better somehow?

3dsx version of luma updater errors without arm9 patch.

Why would i care about online? For the amazing FPS experience? For the team raids? To build with friends? Online on the 3ds doesn't mean shit, big whoop you can trade pokemon. Or visit some dumb ass animal crossing town..

But yet ur asking for help to unban.... Logic.
