Hello out there!

I hope I'm posting in the right spot for this, but I've been using tons of the homebrew wii resources out there to softmod, and have been successful in getting a ton of awesome features set up properly, primarily using the Mastermod pack by Abz. As I've gotten a little more familiar with some of the potential features that can be used, I have encountered some difficulties that I have been unable to solve properly (running a Project M iso, running Neek2o on an emulated nand to install all the VC/Wiiware channels I want, getting PSX to load my PS1 .bins from USB, and general emulator strangeness when loading games off of USB rather than SD) despite my concerted efforts and a decent chunk of time invested in solving each problem, so I wanted to know the best way to go about the modding process again. I have just enough experience messing with all of this to see what a properly finished product could look like, so I have a few particular goals in mind:

1) Use a FAT32 formatted HDD (500gb) to play .wbfs files, GCN backups through Nintendont, PSX .bins through WiiSX, GBA and SNES games through vgbax and snes9xgx respectively. I have achieved all of this in Wiiflow, but because of SD size limitations, I want all of this stored on my external HDD. Ideally I want as close to 100% of files to be stored on USB, including the apps folder and the Wiiflow folder with its various plugins.

2) Create an emulated NAND on this USB, and load all my Wiiware/VC .wads through it in Neek (I have tried and failed using the included Fresh_Emunand_4.3_Uneek_DI_Rev96 in the Mastermod pack, but was hopeful it could be a formatting issue/have another separate HDD that could be experimented with)

3) Use the emuNAND for all of my gamesaves, including GC games (if this is possible)

4) Play movies and shows with >4gb file sizes stored on this USB through WiiMC.

I'm not actually 100% that this is possible on a HDD with a single FAT32 partition, so can anyone speak to that? If that all is possible then its just a matter of getting all the Coverflow stuff configured (found a good Mastershoes guide to the more difficult aspects of that) until my organizational OCD is satisifed. Is there any super specific step I should take before starting this whole process to help ensure at the end everything is functional? More than willing to reinstall any cIOS/.wad/run ModMii and have a PC, 2gb SD card, and another HDD that can be used.

Right now I have all of my Wii games (in .wbfs format from Wii Backup Manager) and GCN games in a freshly reformatted FAT32 HDD, what next?

The Wayback Machine, web.archive.com/web, was working earlier, but now it is taking too long to respond. What might be the problem?

Hello, I'm totaly noob at Wii.
I installed the game SuperMario64.wad, previously patched by "wwPacker", because without the patch did not want to run at all. Now it works but unfortunately it's red.
My console i PAL, NTSC game adapted to PAL by forceNTSC method.

The same problem I had with the NTSC games in USBLoaderGX, but the permanent setting of PAL50 solved my problem.
How to fix VC N64 red screen problem?

My friend posted here previously but wasn't specific enough, so I'll give more details. Basically, he had USB Loader and some other homebrew installed onto his Wii by a friend, and recently he's been getting "an update is available for your Wii" messages whenever trying to load discs or similar things despite the fact that his Wii is on 4.3U and no 4.4 update has been released yet. I suspect that some old files were installed at some point in the softmodding process that caused the Wii to think an update was in order, kinda like how installing a 3DS browser file from 9.2 made my 3DS always ask for updates until I fixed the file. So anybody have a solution to that issue? Will updating be safe, can the update nag be removed? I'll post a syscheck if needed.

A Syscheck report wouldn't hurt. It sounds like there may be some patched system IOSes or a cIOS with a low version number.

Hi all!

I'm new with the wii, also with all the modding. "Somehow" I managed to add the homebrew channel (and also install somekind of cIOS), but I got 3 major problems:

1. When Ripping/Archiving (original) Wii discs the process got stuck at random percentages. My hdd is formatted for FAT32 and there is enough space (but also has a partition of NTFS). I'm using USB loader GX for this.
2. I'm not able to run WADs from the main menu. I tried USB loader, and it feezes in black screen.
3. GC games from HDD. I tried Nintendont, but it seesm to be very unstable (for example MK: DA give some error during intro). Could it be beacuse of no GC gamepad? (also the GC games are not showing up in the USB loader GX)

+1. the emulators would be the next step, but later, when the uppper 3 things are solved. :)

Can anybody help me with this?

I assume you will require this "Syscheck" thing.... so I should ask, where I can download it? :)

Do your games work fine when running from disc? Also, what USBLGX version are you using? You can get SysCheck below.

This one would be much better but it looks like the cIOSes you have in 249-251 are very old. The 4.3 update includes stubs (dummy files) for IOS 249 and 250 to block cIOSes but if the version number of the IOS is higher than the one in the update it will ignore it.

USB Loader GX's version number should be in the lower-left corner of the screen while it's starting up or in the credits screen at the top-right.

Still no ideas?

After using Cleanrip for Skyward Sword, I get SOUE01.part0.iso and SOUE01.part1.iso . Are both of these important and/or do i have to join them?
