Blazblue Cross Tag Battle announced

Fighting game developer Arc System Works is keeping up a solid release schedule, with not just the upcoming Dragon Ball FighterZ, but now they've also announced BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle. The game was revealed at the finals of EVO today, after the championship match. It's a 2v2 fighter that features not only characters from BlazBlue, but also shockingly, characters from Persona 4 Arena, RWBY, and Under Night in-Birth. It's releasing for consoles sometime in 2018.

Umm so why is arc system works now experimenting with Cross over and tag battle games? I been demanding Guilty Gear and Blaz Blue for years! :toot:

But I'm not buying this game, sorry.
I really wanted guilty gear instead of whatever rwby is as well but guilty gear has moved onto 3d character models now so if guilty gear was added, arksysworks would have to make all new 2d
character sprites for the characters from guilty gear which arksysworks isn't going to do just for 1 game. You can look at this game like marvel vs capcom 2 or capcom vs snk 2 as having most if not all reused 2d character sprites from other games.

Lets not talk about Morrigan in CVS2 stands out so freaking much while pretty much everyone has new sprites.

But that would have been AWESOME O_O

Unreal engine 4? 2.5D anime looking models? A story mode that looks like watching anime? Graphic novel elements with optional choice questions and multiple endings? Sneak in potential dating sim? HELL YES, and even better, a port to nintendo switch! :D

Guilty gear xrd was released in 2014. The latest Blaz blue game central Fiction was released last year 2016, why wasn't the game made the same way as Xrd? I DUNNO! But it could have been. Unless the reason was some multiport? There was no vita port, or no other console port. If they wanted to do a crossover game with stuff like Undernight and birth and persona arena, maybe use chaos code? I mean That game wasn't really a $60 title, and last I checked neither is under night & birth or RWBY either. Would least made better sense.

All I'm saying is there could have been something special with a cross over Guilty gear and blaz blue game. :ninja:

Guilty Gear now uses models and not sprites wouldn't fit within the game
that's just lazy. they could just brush up the old sprite work for most the roster seeing as they have the assets and then for the remaining (if they wanted a full xrd roster) can do the remaining by following the base model they have.

Oh cool, would that mean we will get Dragon Ball Fighter Z as well?
Only if Xenoverse 2 for Switch sells enough.

Also, Arc is only in charge of development of FighterZ. Bandai Namco is in charge of publishing it.

Lucky us, they support the Switch as well!

I'd love to see it on Switch, and I think ArcSys seemed to tease the game coming to Switch...but the joycons are totally not conducive to typical 2D fighting games. And it totally wouldn't be the definitive version, either. I'm sure it would at least have a market on Nintendo systems, though, and with the way the Switch is doing right now, it seems fairly likely it'll get a release.
