At the Evolution Championship Series (EVO) in Las Vegas this weekend, Square Enix Ltd., announced that registration for the DISSIDIA FINAL FANTASY NT Closed Beta is now open to select PlayStation 4 players.

Fans can sign up for a chance to participate in the DISSIDIA FINAL FANTASY NT Closed Beta test at beta.software.eu.playstation.com/DFFNTBETA. Those who are chosen will receive an e-mail with more information on how to access the Closed Beta.

This summer, the Closed Beta will give players hands-on with the team-based brawler as they play the role of legendary heroes and villains from the FINAL FANTASY series, try their hand at epic 3 vs. 3 battles across iconic arenas and invoke the help of classic summons including Ifrit, Shiva and Odin.

I do hope this game turns out alright. If they're confident enough in their mechanics to be presenting their beta to professional fighting-gamers, then maybe there's something solid in there.

Not at all. It's a sequel. In fact, the director states the characters won't lose their memories of prior events and will actually remember meeting each other in the last two games.

i remember in 2015 it was stated as a reboot of the series. But things maybe changed since now they are actually making a story for ps4 version of the game

I was nervous when I heard this was originally an arcade game in japan, but after looking up gameplay it looks pretty fantastic.
I've always loved Dissidia. I wish it was coming to Vita but i'd never expect that. Ah well. Another reason to get a PS4.

Well given I don't like most fighting games...

But uh, I just assumed they dumbed down the game. But it looks like the opposite, they seem to have fleshed it out even more.

I would hope it does being it's a console release and not a theft arcade machine

This game might actually prompt me into getting a PS4 someday. I considered skipping out this console generation.

Man oh man, did I play the heck out of both Dissidia games. I wonder if it'll have bonuses for those who have the DDFF game on their Vitas.
