Can anybody recommend me a Flashcard to use for nds roms and the best place to by them (Im from Germany)?
My 3ds is on Latest version and uses Luma.

There are many to choose from as well such as R4, R4i, R4i-SDHC, R4i GOLD, DSTWO, DSTWO+, and much more. You can get it from nds-card.com but you could also get it from eBay as well.

If you're going for a good value, R4i-Gold is what I have; low price and it works well + has extra features like savestates and cheat codes (just have an issue with getting it to stay in the slot sometimes). Got it from nds-card.com.

if all you want is dsroms on your 3ds then any old r4i will do
if you want the most feature rich ds flashcard then you want scds2
if you want the cheapest choice you want ace3ds

If I had to recommend a card, check out the Ak2i. It works well and it is supported for NTRBOOThax which is huge. Here's a link. Although it's a tad pricier than like a r4, but in my opinion, it's worth it.

This is true, however you'll need CFW to use this on any semi-recently updated 3DS/2DS system.

Getting proof right now. But if you look ak2i is basically THE card that is 99% guaranteed to be supported by NTRBOOThax. Ask around. Ill get proof here soon enough.

Nothing has shown definitively that ak2i is confirmed. It's been heavily hinted and logic points to it being the most likely.
The only real confirmation we've had is an accidental slip from Zoogie stating his beta version runs on ak2i. But no real evidence to back that claim and nothing from the devs.

I know, thanks for posting this in the thread though! That's why I said it's 99% guaranteed to work and not 100%.

i just tried my ds flashcarts in the new 3ds xl, the acekard 2i i got from nds card doesnt latch in, it just springs back out again, shame too because the card works if you hold it in place.

seems they have done something to make the flashcarts not latch in the slot properly.

i do not understand to be honest, i thought this was a reccomended card for the 3ds, has anyone else tried inserting one of these flashcarts into the new 3ds xl?

update, my r4-sdhc does not latch in the slot either!, only one flashcard i have stays in the slot and thats my edge ds card but that doesnt work on the 3ds

If you want to use R4 Wood Kernel, you need to go with R4i GOLD 3DS RTS , @Lilith Valentine recommend it.
But, if you don't want Wood Kernel Features, you can go for a $4 cheaper R4i-SDHC 3DS RTS, which recommend by @gnmmarechal.
Both of them support real time save and cheats (Not real time cheating like DSTWO).

This is what R4 Wood Kernel offer:

Wood R4 is a modified version of the Acekard Kernel to run on R4, M3 Simply, and R4i Gold (r4ids.cn.) It's basically praised for introducing all of the Acekard features so it basically had almost all the same features as akAIO. The only feature it didn't have was individual loader updates. Otherwise it had basically everything else.
I always suggest it because it's extremely light on the battery, the ROM performance is perfect, the RTS is stable and simple, it's easy and highly customizable, homebrew soft-reset, and so many other features. I personally think it's the best kernel next to akAIO and it's also why I always suggest the R4i Gold over other carts.

If you buy an R4 card it's basically hit or miss, since they get cloned. A LOT. I recommend a DSTwo (even though I don't have one), DSTT or an Acekard RPG or 2i.
EDIT: DSTT needs tinkering before it will work, so pull your pants up before you insert that cartridge into your 3DS with over-the-roof confidence.

its not really a contact issue though, it physically doesnt latch in when i push the flashcart in, not sure if paper would fix that, its a brand new new 3ds xl as well, i tried 3ds games and they latch in fine, something about the shape i think, i thought it would be fine because the flashcart latchs in no problem on my ds lite.

Im pretty sure they have done something to the 3ds`s slot in later models of 3ds to cause this since all my legit cartridges latch in fine.

If i remember correctly, except the original R4, every units are cloned.
Since original R4 company already got sue by Nintendo.

So, original R4 which only work with DS unless using external apps, although it's a genuine unit, is very outdated.
DSTT company also shut itself from business very long time. The product you would found are mostly naked without packaging.
Nobody can confirm if it's a new one, 2nd hand or refurbish. It's also need to use YSMENU for later NDS games.
