@modbrain
for me wiiflow in neek2o isn't working either. it used to back in 2012 -13 when Fix94 was still working on it. but something changed either in the last betas of wiiflow or in the last betas of neek2o. because it now crashes for me in neek2o mode.

i recommend for you when you exit the game and it starts wiiflow in neek2o mode then goto the home menu and select exit to and then choose real nand. or try my wiiflow lite fork. but you will have to change somethings and you already have everything set for wiiflow mastermod.

ohhhh ...

i missunderstood you when you said:

when you launched the game using neek2o and then exited the game you are now in neek2o mode. so yes your system menu is now your emunand. running wiiflow now is supposwed to work but i think some changes in neek2o broke that.
i thought i broke MY neek2o and it was working fine for others.... :D

Well, at least now i know what i'm doing. And that also means: it's done.
From knowing nothing about Wii or hacking/modding in general, to finally be done after 2 weaks is a nice feeling.

Now i can to play some games :yaywii: Thanks for your patience!

WiiWare/VirtualConsole/Wii:

Can it be, that there are some bugs in Wiiflow regarding the automatic game_cover download function? Cause when i tried it the first time it worked fine, but now, after i added some VC games (...and used the update cache) - it apperently has stoped working. It only says "0/3 have been downloaded".

I went to gameTDB site and the covers were on their site. (???)

Games in Emulator:

Also, i have to download covers from "mastershoez" and insert them into the recuired folder - or do the games in the emulators also have an automatic download function for covers?

not sure ... obviously 0/3 downloaded means it found 3 missing covers but didn't download any of them. did you change any of cover download settings on the config page with the flags for the countries?

emulator game covers - no auto download function for those. in the last few betas fix94 was adding code that would use the crc32 of a rom to download covers from gametdb.com but apparently that fell thru for some reason. so yes you have to download them from mastershoes and rename them and put them in the require folder.

No, i haven't changed any configs.

But now that you have mentioned it, i tried. Because the games i've uploaded were PAL.
So it did find some covers but only front covers - instead of the "around the box" covers.

But i'm now well trained in adding covers by hand so it's not much of a problem :P

Just one more question i have: The covers need the same name as the games - but how does this work for CD games?

For example:

Snatcher (Sega CD) (U)-redump.bin
Snatcher (Sega CD) (U)-redump.cue

Do i have to name the cover
Snatcher (Sega CD) (U)-redump.bin.png or Snatcher (Sega CD) (U)-redump.cue.png ?

It's possible to use second player wiimote at the wiiflow menus? or wiiflow will work only with 1st player wiimote?
Want buy FC30 controller to play with emulators and for playing, controller must be in 1st player slot

you can use up to four wiimotes on wiiflow menus. you can use player 2 wiimote for the menus. obviously you need to properly sync them before running wiiflow.

You may need to set the GC loader first to enable it as a source.

I can exit back from Megaman 9 to Wiiflow. But there seems to be a Problem with Megaman 9 though. When i play the game, the background seems kinda glitchy when moving left/right (i have tried diffrent region wads and all). Megaman 10 on the other hand is working fine.

I may have to try and install the wad to real nand's System Menu...

Does somebody know a solution to this problem?

EDIT :
SOLVED - there is an "palette.xml" file somewhere inside the Wiiflow/Plugin folder you have to delete.

When i was using the gameboy emu "vbagx" in Wiiflow, i saw that under settings/video-option, there was a possibility to change the so called "color palette" of the original gameboy games. So i tried to make the games look orange (instead of the black & white).

But now i have this problem:

It didn't change the color, but every gameboy game now glitches very slightly where there is a status window (amount of coins, points, remaining lives & time). I changed everything back to 0 / 0 / 0 and even deleted all savefiles from the "vbagx folder", but the glitch still remains. So my thought was, i replace something in the plugin folder (inside wiiflow) with a fresh plugin from the untouched Abz Masterpack, but i'm not sure that i won't mess things up even worser, because the GBA & GBC part of the emu run great. I found these files inside the plugin related to vbagx:

inside Wiiflow/plugins

gambatte.ini
gambatte_gb.ini
gambatte_gbc.ini
vba_next.ini
vbagx.ini
vbagx_gb.ini
vbagx_gba.ini
vbagx_gbc.ini
vbagx-mod13.dol
wiimednafen_gb.ini
wiimednafen_gba.ini
wiimednafen_gbc.ini

inside Wiiflow/plugins/retroarch-wii

gambatte.dol
vba_next.dol

And also maybe i do have to change something inside the wiiflow.ini file?

U just get the link the grey wolf postet on the other thread.

Put the Wiiflow folder (containing boot.dol etc.) thats inside the "apps" folder into the apps folder of your SD card.

But there is also a second folder of Wiiflow (its outside of the "apps" folder) - it contains stuff like bookmarks, boxcovers, plugins etc. Put this hole folder into the root of your SD card.

One folder: SD/apps/Wiiflow ___ the other folder: SD/Wiiflow

Now you have all plugins - no need to worry about them anymore.

i have plugins..some, not all. but if i want to play with them i wanted to understand how that all works, whats the point of that and why...

also why two folders...and in lets say gba emulator in my apps folder there is no "bact to wiiflow option" so i thought its not the same as gba emulator i have in my sd/apps folder...i am just confused how all that works... and i cant find singulat place for all stuff and that ist all well explained..its all scatered around, fuzzy and not really user friendly. i spent whole day just figutring out how to get wiiflow on my wii and half of that itme i spent finding files..IF i got the right ones..but it all works fine..im trying to figure out cover arts now and emulators etc... so im at plugins now......
EDIT: that plugins i have, i did not put them there, they where in in folder i downloaded... wii flow is one big mess if you ask me xD but it looks nice

Most homebrew is messy. It was written by a lot of different people over the years. :)
No i mean there is no clear explanation on how it works in one post, with all files in one place. usb loader is pretty easy once i figured it out, but i had to really ask around and play with it...
Is wiiflow not up anymore?

Anyway, can you explain plugins to me please?

Based on observation, wiiflow plugins are outdated concept? But anyway you don't NEED THEM. I believe it was at one point to allow loading homebrew without using the homebrew channel but wii flow instead. You don't need the plugins to load homebrew from wiiflow, just as long as the homebrew browser can recognize them wiiflow can as well. I use wiiflow master mod which works just as it is. Just make sure you put the backup games in the proper place like the other person who quoted you said.

Ignore the plugins, is nothing relevant to what you plan to use wiiflow for. WIIFLOW can load homebrew, that is all I was saying. Download Wiiflow master mod.
  1. Download the attached files.
  2. Extract the files to a folder
  3. Copy the folder labeled folders to your "APPS" Folder on your sd card. to your sd card.
  4. Put the SD card Inside your WII
  5. Go to homebrew channel
  6. Load the WIIFLOW CHANNEL INSTALLER HOMEBREW
  7. Install WIIFLOW CHANNEL FORWARDER
After that you can use it to load wiiflow from the system menu without needing homebrew channel. :)
