'Assassin's Creed' To Be Adapted Into An Anime Series

Capture.JPG

It's Adi Shankar, the guy behind the Castlevania animated series who'll helm the project. Just like with his previous video game-to-series adaptation, Adi Shankar broke the news on his Facebook page:

Not much else is known about the project at this point but it seems like Ubisoft decidedly wants steer away from the disaster that was the big screen adaptation of the series and is now considering a new approach. Do you think an anime formula will work?

It'll suck worse than that Devil May Cry anime.

Scratch that, it'll suck worse than that time they made Panzer Dragoon into an Anime.

Not sure, the Castlevania series is looking pretty positive, if they keep to the source material with an emphasis on the action and not convolute it too much with story exposition, it'd probably work. I know Assassin's Creed is story heavy, but most fans of Assassin's creed don't play it for that, they play it to stab some templars.

Seems Ubisoft is going the sellout way for this franchise. First a movie, and now an animated series... should I even mention the word 'milking a cash cow', or is it so obvious that it's pointless to say.

You mean like what Square Enix does with FFVII? Or does it work because that's a beloved and sacred series?

No, cash ins like this are always terrible - 100% of the time. The movie sucked; I know people who liked it and it didn't fail, but it was a critical failure.

....as if the live-action movie wasn't a lesson; would rather see:
Gears of War
Paper Mario
Metroid
Earthbound
Twisted Metal
Ninja Gaiden
Jet Grind Radio
Crash Bandicoot
Knuckles Choatix
Tengai Makyou
Oddworld
River City Ransom
Code of Princess
Bioshock
Need For Speed
Grand Theft Auto
Fallout
Breath of Fire

Jet Grind Radio in the proper style would make for something exciting.

I think Grand Theft Auto could be a cool series, but it'd be better live action.
