I'm exceptionally new, I signed up just to ask this question so I'm sorry if it's dumb but, is this a hack you use for emulator version of this game or for the official 3DS game?
This is a hack to use with the 3ds version of the game, but you can use it with citra. I wouldn't recommend it though, citra is still in early development and is very buggy/laggy as a result. The SoS franchise also needs all the help it can get from NoA customers, but I can't stop you if you want to use an emulator.

Edit: Posted too soon accidentally woops

Do you have to hack your 3DS to use the mod? Or can it be done on a legal game copy with some tweaks (no software)?

I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this, but I have an 11.4 version of a 2DS and desperately want this patch. I was wondering if anyone here knew if it was possible to get CFW on this version of a 2DS yet? I keep finding a lot of information that says both it's possible and it's not. I don't want to rick bricking my 2DS without any real need. I'd rather wait until a way to get CFW was available and get this patch than make a rookie mistake and not be able to get the patch. Thank you very much for reading this and any advice or knowledge you may have. Or even if you could just point me in the right direction (thread) then I would be grateful. There is a vast amount of information on this website so it can get a little confusing. Thanka again!

As of right now, you have these methods of getting CFW on your 11.4 2DS
-a hardmod or
-the DSiware method found here, which requires another system with CFW.

Until you do either of these things, you cannot use this patch.

In the future, a new method will be released known as ntrboothax, which requires a DS flashcard.

The two guides I linked to are subpages of a guide known as 3ds.guide and is the ONLY CFW guide you should follow. Do NOT follow any kind of video guide as they get outdated very quickly.

Thank you so much! I just have one more question, if you have time, should I look into a hardmod or only the dsiware method and ntrboothax. I'm sure this is quite a dumb question, but I just want to make sure I completely understand before moving forward. Thank you.

It honestly doesn't matter which one you choose. The cheaper method would be the ntrboothax method with requires a DS flashcard, especially since you don't have to pay to get another system with CFW and do a system transfer (which is how the DSiware method works) and the hardmod option would depend on if you do the hardmod yourself (hardmod guide located here [do this first], the 3ds.guide page located here [then do this after]) or send your 2DS off to a trusted hardmodder here on GBAtemp.

I understand. Thank you so much! This answered all my questions and I have ways to start now.

Woop! Well here it finally is! The first update for Trio of Towns: TLE, v2.0!

This update brings in 500+ changes to dialogue outside of love events. It's mostly just gender fixes here and there, but there have also been changes to the marriage candidates conversation dialogue, aka, the dialogue that comes up when you talk to them in the overworld. You also don't have to switch between the male/female player patches anymore, as those have been replaced with just one patch!

(Also here's a big big thank you to @Girafarig who helped me edit a whole shit ton of dialogue! This patch would've taken a lot longer to come out if it weren't for his help!)

Here's the full overview of the changes that come with this update:
  • Male/Female Player patches have been replaced with just one patch for both player genders
  • Event dialogue revised from:
    • Child Growth 1
    • Child Growth 2
    • Child Birthday
    • Marriage/Lover Birthdays
    • Pair Birthday
    • Family Meals
    • Family Picnic
    • Sealight Night
    • Star Festival
    • Starlight Gala
    • Valentine's Day
    • Marriage Ceremonies
  • Revised conversation dialogue from:
    • All blessing given from villagers when you get a lover/become engaged/have a child
    • After-event dialogue in:
      • Harvest Festival
      • Cooking Festival
      • Animal Festival
      • Pet Festival
      • Fashion Festival
      • Star Festival
      • Starlight Gala
      • Sealight Night
      • Goddess Festival
      • Spirit Festival
      • Festival of Plenty
    • Edited friendship conversations:
      • Wayne's purple, dark blue, and light green flower dialogue
      • Ford's purple, dark blue, and light green flower dialogue
      • Lisette's light blue, dark blue, and light green flower dialogue
      • Ludus's white, dark blue, and light green flower dialogue
      • Iluka's dark blue and light green flower dialogue
      • Siluka's light blue and light green flower dialogue
      • Komari's purple, dark blue, and light green flower dialogue
      • Kasumi's light blue, dark blue, and light green flower dialogue
      • All of Hinata's flower dialogue
      • All of Yuzuki's flower dialogue except dark blue
      • Child's white, light blue, and dark blue flower dialogue
    • Edited lover conversations:
      • Wayne's yellow and orange flower dialogue
      • Ludus's yellow flower dialogue
      • Kasumi's dark green, pink, and red flower dialogue
      • Hinata's red flower dialogue
    • Edited marriage conversations:
      • Wayne's 3rd and 4th convo
      • Lisette's 3rd convo
      • Ludus's 1st and 2nd convo
      • Komari's 3rd and 4th convo
      • Hinata's 3rd convo
      • Yuzuki's 3rd convo

    • Festival notices from Wayne, Lisette, Ford, Komari, Yuzuki, and Hinata
    • Pregnancy conversations from all male candidates

(Make sure to overwrite old files when you update)
Enjoy! c:
I do need to emphasize that I was unable to test every single thing, due to the sheer size of this update. I tested everything in the general sense, to make sure that there wasn't any game-breaking bugs, but it's very possible I could have missed some things.

If you find any bugs, text errors, or anything that needs correcting that I might have missed (outside of love events), please let me know! (Screenshots would be extremely helpful too!)

First of all, bless you (again) for this. It's even better now that characters don't casually misgender me when I say hi. Second of all, if we find places where the line breaks could use some tweaking, should we just upload a screenshot here?

Yup, that's fine! You can also just PM me, either way works.

These are p self explanatory, I think - first one needs some line break tweaking and second one shouldn't have 'ask' capitalised.
