The steps said I require a 3DS. So, with only citra I wouldn't be able to make the rom?
First get a decrypted .3ds file, shouldn't be too hard to find one and then

  • Place your decrypted .3ds or .cia file in the same folder as "setup.bat".
  • Run "setup.bat".
  • Enter Y to extract the decrypted ROM.
  • Select which Encounter Build you would like to use. If you enter an invalid build or leave this blank, your wild encounters will be unmodified.
  • Enter Y if you would like to randomize anything in your game. After randomizing, exit PK3DS. If you don't want to randomize, enter N. It is recommended that you use the Leveled or Expanded builds as a base for randomization of Wild Pokémon.
  • Select which file format you would like to rebuild as.
  • If you rebuilt as .3DS for Citra, open the .3DS file in a hex editor, search for hex values 01 01 80 E0 04 20 80 E5 1E FF 2F E1 and change to 01 01 80 E0 00 F0 20 E3 1E FF 2F E1. This will remove the outline effect.

I followed all your step but file was created in Extracted_ROM, but no .3DS rom was created

I'm having an issue after updating to the lastest Luma. I'm running Umbra Moon w/ an IPS patch genned with this tool. Patches: 100% Catch, 100x Exp, No Outlines, and SciresM QR. No outlines and the QR inject both still work, but my system crashes both when trying to catch a pokemon, and when a pokemon is about to gain experience. However, when I remove the Umbra romhack, 100%catch and 100xExp work with no crashes. Am I doing something wrong? Is anyone else having this issue? I'm confused because these patches worked just last week before updating Luma...

Hey guys, Pokémon Nova Sun looks awesome, but I'm having problems with the process.

I have Pokémon Sun 1.2 already decrypted, but when I open the setup and start the process, responding with Y to the initial steps, I always get an error in the extraction phase. Something about the banner.bnr or similar. Can someone help me, please?

Why don't you just use luma layeredfs? You just drop the files in sd:/luma/titles/<title id of sun/moon>/romfs. It's super easy.

Sorry, perhaps I should have said in the other post. I don't own a 3DS, I'm using Citra. So, I have to do the process on the PC, using that setup.bat.

Very simple. Delete the SaltySD folder from your 3DS SD card.
Hey, sorry to bother you again, but you said I needed to simply delete de SaltySD folder from the sd card and I did that but now the cartridge doesn't work, I try to load it but it just says an error has occurred and the system has to restart

Another question, something odd happened. I've been playing Nova Sun 1.0 and almost right at the beginning, when we go to the Trainer's School and have to fight 3 kids before the last one, standing on the field... I already won against the three of them and the battle just won't trigger; the guy (Rising Star Joseph, I believe) keeps on saying the same thing, that I have to defeat the others. Has this occurred to anyone?

Don't play 1.0.

Oh, it's because of that? Glad to know, I was afraid that it would be a game-breaking glitch, having to restart it all over.

But I couldn't install the more recent updates, unfortunately (that's why I downloaded from somewhere else that 1.0 Nova Sun). I already have my Pokémon Sun Decrypted Rom with the 1.2 update, but when I open the setup and start the process, responding with Y to the initial steps, I always get an error in the extraction phase. Something about the banner.bnr or similar. What can I do? Don't own a Citra, have to do it through PC.

If you can use a ROM on the 3DS via CIA installation, you can use the Luma Drag and Drop method. Use that instead of building a CIA. You can use that method over your existing CIA of the game. Make sure you update the game to v1.2 on your console.

Go to luma/titles/ and find the Title ID for Sun or Moon, delete that folder entirely as well.

Sorry, my mistake! Just re-read my post, I wanted to say: "Don't own a 3DS, have to do it through PC and then play on Citra". So, I need to use the setup.bat to install the mod on my ROM. But when I open the setup and try the process, it ends giving me those erros due to banner.bnr or something like that
