That's if you have only the exact same name as the rom on the database, and if the ROM is not a hack. :v
I ended up only getting one sole match out of the 100+ ROMs i have from different consoles, and that one being Doom from Final Doom, all others had no match at all.

What exactly does the name have to be in thumbnails in order for RA to recognize it for a particular ROM?
Retroarch uses the No-Intro Romsets. I´m using them for the consoles and they work perfectly with scanning and thumbnails.

I wanted to update from 1.4.1 to 1.6.0 and noticed the blueMSX core is missing in this version. It worked perfectly on the older version. Why was it removed?
Is there any alternative for MSX/MSX2?

Edit: I changed my the location of my roms files and re edit the path on playlist buddy to be correct.
Try this by deleting all in an lpl (backup it first so you can revert back after)and then adding this

Sd:/retroarch/Nes/Action 52 (USA).zip
Action 52 (USA) (Unl)
sd:/retroarch/cores/nestopia_libretro.rpx
Nestopia

Nes.lpl

See if that will load.

He needs to rename the LPL to "Nintendo - Nintendo Entertainment System.lpl" or else RetroArch won't find the playlist.
Each core/system has a specific naming which should be followed for playlists.
You can find what each lpl should be named like here:

He is having problems loading the game. Not just a thumbnail. I am trying to deduce the problem. Also, I went off his screen so I just recipient a spot manually. Lol

That shouldn't be the case, I use Haxchi + CFW, holding down B as it loads, something isn't set up right then.

In what way does mocha fiddle with the system?? You run it off your sd card no system files are modified at all so no fiddling of system files are taking place.

Yes, you were right, I just didn't like the idea of the hacked DS Game on sysNAND. Well, all set up and running fine. Thanks for pointing it out.

Libretro forgot to put XMB files in the archive though, had to copy it over from the 3DS. I wish setting up thumbnails would be easy, just putting the files in the thumbnails folder (with same name) and retroarch should show it up. Sadly it doesn't work like this. :(

i got this working..... question, things seem to crash alot when loading/trying different games. I'm used to the vwii side of things where it seems to be very stable with fceu gx, snes9x gx, etc. I know the first entry in this thread indicates that loading several things during the same session can cause a crash. Is there a way to make it more stable? I really want this to work as things look/feel fantastic, prior to the crashing. I'm using the latest nightly rpx files.
many thanks again.

I've upgraded to 1.6.0 and also getting crashes quite often with the error code 160-2203. It happens only when switching between SNES roms, though. (Snes9x)
No issues with NES (Nestopia) or GBC (mGBA) from what I can tell.
Is 1.6.0 not stable? I didn't have this problem with 1.4.1.

I'm using Haxchi (CBHC) and launching Retroarch from the installed channel.

Edit: Now I also had a 160-2203 crash when loading a NES game... :(

I don't even use a playlist. For me it crashes when simply switching roms from Load Content > Downloads.
How can I create a playlist inside Retroarch? I tried the Scan Directory option under "Collections" and under "Import content", it just scans through the content but the roms don't appear anywhere.

If you want to create a playlist within Retroarch itself, you'll need to download the databases. Scanning tends to be slow on the Wii U though, which is why many prefer using Playlist Buddy.

I tried Online Updater > Update Databases. It's downloading a database-rdb.zip but afterwards I couldn't find it anywhere on my SD card and playlist creation still doesn't work. What am I doing wrong?

@ploggy good news my friend, Dune II from Westwood Studios is working pretty well on dosbox, I though you could want to know since you seem to enjoy RTS games as me :)
Make sure to run the setup file in order to get audio, select Sound Blaster Pro as source for music/sfx/digitalized samples (voices).

In other news, dosbox seems to work as it should?, the limitations from the controls have nothing to do with the core itself but implementations in RA itself, @QuarkTheAwesome just you to know as it looks like a ready to go for github

I need to start using this if Dune II is working

I heard that RetroArch supports Material UI and XMB menu in Wii U [1.6.0 build]
Does it work? Also, new cores? Everyone is talking about C64 and DOS and I can't find it among these pages.
