Usually I just lurk in this forum, and normally find the answers that I need.
Recently update from A9LH TO B9S without problem, everything great (B9S 1.0/Luma 7.1), then the new Luma version was released, and want to test the external control feature, the problem is when I try to update to B9S 1.2 following the Guide:

Section II - Installing boot9strap
  1. Reboot holding (Start) during boot to launch the Luma3DS chainloader menu

It just boot in GodMode, what setting or what step I jump?, I checked all the guide and can't find the part where you configure the boot method to the chainloader menu, The only options in Luma are when I press Select on boot (the one where you choose brightness, pin or run patch for games)
Don't even know what the ChainLoader stuff is
Is GodMode the Luma 3ds ChainLoader with other name?
Thanks in advance and sorry for my broken english

Take the SD out, and hold start. Does it boot directly to GodMode9?

Yes it is, next to GodMode9.firm too...

Yep, it boots in GodMode
Try this

in GM9, enter SysNAND CTRNAND, go to the rw folder, is there a Luma folder inside?
If there is, check inside the Luma folder for a payloads folder, is there inside a GodMode9.firm?

If there is, remove it

There was one, I remove it, now it boots directly to Home Menu when holding start.
maybe if I copy the files again to the SD?

And is boot.firm on the root of the SD card?
Yes, according to FBI is there, I dont have an SD Reader at hand rigth now, but I downloaded and copy (Except for the boot.firm I let the original one) all the files on the guide, everything was ready to update, the problem was when I couldnt boot on that chainloader stuff...

Ok I want you to do this

Do you see an option to go to SysNAND CTRNAND? If you do click on it

Do you see the rw folder? If you do then you are doing stuff correct

Do you see the boot.firm on the root of the CTRNAND? Highlight it and press A on it

Press on Copy

Go back to the FBI main menu

Go in the SD card

Do you see a <current directory>? Press on it if you do

Press paste

You should now have copied the working boot.firm from the CTRNAND to the SD card and it should now boot using the SD card

Thanks dude, you are the best, sorry to bothering you with step by step instructions, never had these type of noob problems, normally read everything 2 or 3 times, maybe I messed up the dont copy boot.firm part, even if im 99% secure I didnt.

I don't know if anyone mentioned this but make shure you have boot.firm on the root of your ctrnand and on the root of the sd card. And make shure it's for luma version 8.0.

Edit-nvm,someone seems to have fixed the issue already.

Just read this, don't worry I'm sure it's not a problem you had, other people had this problem too

My guess are that sometimes the Luma from the CTRNAND triggers the chainloader too rather than the one from the SD card

Or that the SD card sometimes is not detected correctly by B9S.. and goes directly to the Luma on the CTRNAND..

This is what I think the problem is(I can be wrong, I barely know any coding so)

Guys, there's no issue. If there is only one payload, when holding start, it will directly enter that payload instead of opening the chainloader menu.
That's the problem. There's payloads on both CTRNAND and SD card.

It's triggering the one from the CTRNAND instead of the SD card. And if I'm correct, the 3ds.guide tells the user to put GM9 inside of the Luma folder on the CTRNAND (rw/luma/payloads)
