Hey Guys, I somehow got my hands on a English Patched Zero no Kiseki and I've been fiddling with this game for 2 hours trying to find any Untranslated Japanese Texts only to find none!

and then i've heard that this was suppose to be a beta patch from the first translator called ZeroG (who quit btw and now a different group is finishing up the translation patch) so I'm not a 100% sure if this is a completely translated game or just a partial one.

it feels like a complete english patch and i have already reached Chapter 1 in the game and it is still in english, even the dialogues from the NPC's changes from time to time..

here's the link: (Removed)

Hey Jan from the PPSSPP/DRASTIC ZONE group, is that you? You shouldn't post the link here, it's breaking the rules

The English patch that got released is extremely bad. Like sometimes not even English bad.
This is not the fan translation that is being worked on by fans of the series, and was an older project of Zero that was so badly translated no one wanted to edit it.

If you really care about the series, wait until the much better fan translation that's being worked on by Trails fans, and not this mess.

(Final Fantasy VII's Fan Translation was Horrible, it was like trying to retranslate the commentary in Street Fighter, as long as you know where to go and the situation, everything is all Good ........... the level design of Trails in the Sky1 USA, all the dungeons looked and played the same, maybe this is different. If your lucky enough to find out what chapter the translation craps out, lets us know! (this way noone gets burned)

What?
This translation is bad and spits in the face of Trails fans. It's why it's not worth it to play it until the good fan translation is finished.
What do the TitS dungeons have to do with this? The translation was extremely good and they continue to make it better when terminology needs to get revamped to be more in line with later games.

(the dungeons in Trails in the Sky, really didn't take a role in the game. they were just slingshot there, plus they all were nearly identical ... ... ... ... any story or plot lines connected to the dungeons in that game, were really just "hit or miss", I think it was intended to be that way. At the end of the day you were left with a big fat Chore in the Dungeons, not much of a translation needed to finish those.........now go to Trails to Zero ("the hit or miss theme"), so do we really need a good translation if the series finally hits the mark in denoting itself, by this time if the trend follows the whole game should be shot through with holes, so we don't need much, other then when and where, thus if the game is completed right now, then we should enjoy that, right now)

The Translation is Decent to say the least and it won't stop anybody from playing this game just like the rest of the fan translated games out there.

I'm still playing through this and Nope everything is still in effing English and nope I do believe this patch was handled with care with its translation and it clearly shows how determined they are at putting this together, the bracer notebooks/quest log are all translated, the changing dialogues of NPCs are translated, even the news papers are translated into English, almost every little thing in the patch has been translated.

The question now is if how long have they translated this and when will everything be in Japanese?

I guess i'll just keep on playing this until I get to that point!

Wow! Finally some concrete proof that I'm not some crazy guy claiming the existence of this patch! Hahaha!

Here I have it. I was helping on the project. I think it just got to be too much for everyone. Me and a few other tried to fix the teminology but in the end zero gave up.

Hey there! I was just wondering about this patch that you guys worked on, is it a completed patch? or just a partial one as far as the storyline goes?

No, no problems with the group itself. The kiseki series as you know is very text and lore heavy. It was a lot of work and the team was working on it very hard. Buuut, it just proved to be too much. The team that picked it up is VERY well versed in the legend of heroes universe and will polish it up nicely.

For the most part it's done. You will find a few untraslated spots and some, interestingly translated spots. You should be fine to play all the way through though.

Being in English doesn't make a translation good.
Zero Wing was in English and that gave us "All your base are belong to us" lmao
And this translation has TL notes in the text and blatant mistranslations like mistaking the JP spelling of Cuisine for Cousin. And this isn't even mentioning how terrible the writing is compared to the good fan translation work that's gonna be coming out.

If you want an actually good translation wait for the one from this site, not the one you posted.

(Legend of Heroes 1, actually the first three games released in the USA of the series, had that horrible user interface that blocked the whole screen when you had to make a battle choice. I could only tolerate that for a few hours and always got annoyed out of playing before shortly between the first and second town. Moving past the repetitive dungeons (towers) of Trails in the Sky, after spending just a short amount of time with Trails to Zero, it seems to blend better, the sound track is also closer to Star Ocean on PSP, the ps1 remake)

I'm not calling Zero a bad game, I'm calling the translation bad, because it is.
Zero's a great game, and because it's a great game it deserves a great translation. Playing this bad translation is not worth it when there is going to be a good fan translation coming out.

(the curse of the unfinished translation that plagues all the Tales Games. Lots of teams with broken promises ... anyway ... the translation is probably what the author wanted, even if its not perfect, otherwise, everything should be released, but that won't happen ... it looks sincere enough to be enjoyable, the only incomplete translation I ever played was Super Robot Wars, that series is a moot point, its like trying to do a fan translation of Street Fighter on the SNES, that is until recently with the vita english ports of super robot wars ... still very happy with the translation that is released, hopefully I don't get finished before the other translation groups claims are completed, but if I do, oh well, the games over and done, Legend of Heroes does not have a high replayability)
