I'm trying to figure out how to properly disable the hourly functions without messing up the app. I will edit this post once it has been successfully removed.

v2.1.2 has been released! Hopefully this will help with the "OMG I DOWNLOADED HOURLY AND BRICK" posts.

What's New:
* Disabled updating to the latest hourly, with help from @Kartik. If you have updated to boot9strap v1.2 and Luma3DS v8.0+, download Luma Updater v2.1.1 to continue updating to the latest hourly. Don't come crying to me when you boot to a black screen after an hourly build doesn't work.

Notes:
* Because of the name of the latest stable Luma3DS release, Luma Updater will say "A new stable version of Luma3DS is available" despite you already having the latest version (8.0-21db0d4). This is something I cannot fix until the name of the stable release changes back to the format it was in. Keep checking Luma3DS's releases page to see if a new stable version is actually released.

If you do get a black screen after updating to the latest hourly, do the following:
1. Download the latest stable release of Luma3DS for your version of boot9strap (v8.0+ for b9s v1.2 users, v7.1 for b9s v1.1 or v1.0 users).
2. Take your SD card out of your system and delete the boot.firm file on the root of your SD card.
3. Move the boot.firm from the Luma3DS .7z file you downloaded in Step 1 to the root of your SD card.
4. Put SD card back into your system and power it on. You should now load into the Home Menu.

it still says v2.1.1 in the app (I'm not seeing the hourly option though)

Why doesn't your releases have cool names like "USB-interfaced sniper rifles" instead of descriptive, helpful names like "Disabled Hourly"?

Also why don't you have thousands of different versions to cater to every single Luma3DS users? Or thousands of options to satisfy every single Luma3DS user using a9lh, MenuHax, MSET, etc.?

/s:P

Thanks for taking this over and putting up with all the noob "HALP I BRICK!!!" and other crap. :D

If I said I don't have a creative bone in my body, would that explain it? /s :P

This whole thing as been an experience, to be honest. A good or bad experience, you ask? I don't even know the answer to that.

Not sure if this would be considered a major bug, but I have encountered the following upon installing the updater.

It's still saying that there's a newer version of Luma available, even though I have the latest version of Luma on my SD card. I have no version of Luma on my CTR NAND. I even went ahead and used the updater to install the latest Luma, and it's still saying there's a newer version.

I explained this 4 posts above yours. It's not a bug nor a major bug.

@KunoichiZ Sorry if this has been explained elsewhere, but I wasn't able to find it. Is there a reason you no longer include 3dsx builds with post 2.1 releases?
Since Luma no longer supports anything that's not b9s, I felt that using the Homebrew Launcher to obtain the latest version of Luma wasn't needed anymore. If enough people want this back, I'll fix it and reupload the .smdh and the .3dsx.

It might be a good idea now with Rosalina and us trying to hide from Nintendo ninjas.

Sorry if this has been asked but, how about move Luma Updater to Rosalina's menu?
I'm not sure if Rosalina can access to wifi services.

@KunoichiZ

Don't take this the wrong way, not trying to insult you or anything, just making a joke.

My gosh your more salty about the nightly brick threads than the entirety of Utah :P

On a less joking note good job eliminating it, will make it more noob friendly which is what we really need in this scene since most are probably still in elementary X3

Haha, thanks. I just got sick and tired of seeing threads about the hourly "bricks". It's insane how many there were.
