i am getting an error when trying to connect to my pc. is it because my ip has 2 digits on one of the 3-digit text field (ex. (not my ip) 784.284.296.34:8888) like that

[upper screen][ERR-1] A recive is attempted on a connection-mode socket that is not connected..<my ip>

[lower screen]Connection to server succesfull!
[send][size:4][type:7]
Problem contacting server. errorcode 0XFFFFFF80(-128)
[ERR-1] A recive is attempted on a connection-mode sockrt tat is not connected.
[send][size:4][type:1]
Problem contacting server. errorcode 0XFFFFFF80(-128)

Any fix?

those series of messages appear when the client was able to successfully bind the socket, and it is now asynchronously looking for a server to connect to. are you entering the correct IP and Port? the server and the client need to be on the same subnet of your network.

a common misconception with the IP is the order to put them in. e.g 192.168.1.5 would be entered as 192.168.001.005 and NOT 192.168.100.500

I have the same problem with correct ip and port. What should i do?

After a lot of testing this is how I was able to run the app
My ip is: 192.168.001.047
To conect me I mark 192.168.001.057
Yes I have added 10 at the end and it works.

For key configures:
PORT = 8888
CPDEADZONE = 50
SCREEDWIDTH = 400
SCREENHEIGHT = 240
BTN_A = 102 // 6
BTN_B = 98 // 2
BTN_X = 104 // 8
BTN_Y = 100 // 4
BTN_L = 103 // 7
BTN_R = 105 // 9
BTN_DUP = 90 // fléche up
BTN_DDOWN = 83 // arrow down
BTN_DLEFT = 81 // arrow left
BTN_DRIGHT = 68 // right arrow
BTN_CPUP = 38 // z
BTN_CPDOWN = 40 // s
BTN_CPLEFT = 37 // q
BTN_CPRIGHT = 39 // d

If you want to personalize your key it is necessary
Go to: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/dd375731(v=vs.85).aspx

Taking a step
Example: B key = 0x42

Then convert the key with: http://www.binaryhexconverter.com/hex-to-decimal-converter

Example: Hex Value = 0x42 -> Decimal Value = 66
66 = B key :)

I keep getting the error "A connection request is already in progress for the specified socket" when i try to put in my IP. Not too sure if this still works, I tried installing the cia, also converting the 3ds into a cia and installing it, but no luck.

"A connection request is already in progress for the specified socket"

I have been working on a project on and off for about 2 weeks now. I decided to work on something else so I am releasing what I have. a 3DS Remote Desktop app that allows you to remote control your PC for games, movies, porn, etc.

It is still fairly rudimentary, but it works.

To use, set the server config file to set button input mappings, the port to use, and the destination screen size(mostly used for other platforms so just leave it at 400x240 because thats the 3DS' screen size). The input mappings require win32 virtual key code int values(ascii decimal value). A list of these can be found here. NOTE: The values here are HEX, so just convert them to decimal with windows calculator or online tools like this.

The client is still a bit ugly, but once you set the server and port to connect to(D pad for server, and L and R keys to set port), press A to connect. Once connected, press SELECT to start video link. At any point, press start to exit the client. You can press ESC to stop the server. Connects/disconnects still arent exactly clean, but oh well :P

A build can be found here, but I also have a build attached. The source can be found here. Please note, i have not included the source to LZ4, but i have included prebuilt library's. if you use these librarys, dont forget to forward lz4's licenced :D

Enjoy.

Thanks to Zoogie, there is a CIA build below(Idk how to link individual posts here ><)
https://gbatemp.net/attachments/3dsremotedesktopclient_3dscia-zip.15753/

So how do I enter the IP, let's say, 192.168.0.24 on the 3DS client?

    @K3Nv2 Snow Day is pretty fun. My only bitch would be the camera controls, when you move around, say down, you have to move the right stick left or right to get camera to turn and get your view, other than that I like it so far.

    From what people say pvp isn't even worth it
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    I just been playing offline, and they give you a few bots here n there on your team to help battle. I don't think it's as funny as the other games tho, more battle oriented than humor, which kinda sucks, but I'm still early in it
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    @BigOnYa, doesnt the game have a campaign mode?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    Yea, and co-op, but you can also start a pvp session and battle just with friends. You get special skill cards (powers) the more you play. And higher value cards, but you can only enable so many cards at a time.

    If you can find enough for it

    Toilet paper is considered the money, you collect and buy stuff with TP, kinda funny. Graphics are def better than the other games tho, I think they used Unity 5 engine.

    I bet most people at the time still watched it in black and white
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    @Xdqwerty, Many of them did before colour television was common.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    Likely because black and white TV was in-expensive.

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    It certainly wasn't inexpensive it cost the same as a new car back then
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    How much did a 1965 color TV cost?

    For example, a 21-inch (diagonal) GE color television in 1965 had an advertised price of $499, which is equal to $4,724 in today's dollars, according to the federal government's inflation calculator.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    @K3Nv2, take into consideration how economy was back then
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    Yeah that's why they listed inflation rates

    Sorry didnt read that part
