hey there

i have a strange problem. :unsure:

I use the CFG-Loader for Wii games. For other stuff i use Wiiflow. The games & everything are saved on my big 256gb SD card.

The Wiiflow-Loader loads up very slow when there is nothing conected in USB slot. So i just used a normal empty USB 3.0 Thumbdrive.
Now the Wiiflow loader loads very quick (7 sec) and everything else runs well.

Here is the Problem:

Since i didn't want to have the long USB-Stick conectet to the back - i bought a very small and cheap "Sandisk Cruzer Fit" (USB 2.0) - so it wouldn't stick out the back like the long one.

BUT... now the CFG-Loader doesn't work right! When i select a game it freezes in boot screen, so i have to hold the power button for 5 seconds. Also when i try to return from CFG-Loader to Wii System Menu, it freezes as well.

When i launch without the small USB Stick conected everything works fine. As well with the long USB Stick.

The small stick is formatted just like the long USB stick (FAT32 / 32k).

bonjour jeannotte

I did a syscheck like you told me. But i don't think there is something wrong with the System. Since it works good and plays everything - expect when i plug-in the small USB stick - the CFG loader stops working properly.

My thought was if the USB Stick causes these problems (?) Anyway here is the data:

(PS: It came in german language - just tell me if i should translate something you don't understand)

That looks fine. It could just be that flash drive isn't compatible. They're pretty flaky on the Wii. I have 3 of the same model and only one works. :P

Hello, I used to have an old version of the cfg usb loader which showed my wii games plus my GC games. Now that I updated to v70, I don't see my GC games anymore, I checked settings, but couldn't find an option to show gc games. Was this option removed from the latest version? Btw, my GC games are located in my SD card and wii games in an external HDD.

@Locoxx

I have CFG loader 70 Mod r65 (which seems to be one of the latest versions) and it shows both, my Wii & GC games.

I have it like this:

CFG = Wii
USB GX = GC
Wiiflow = Wiiware / Emulators

I have all my Wii & GC games on a big SD card (256gb). There seems to be a path issue (or the CFG loader does only recognise one path (USB) or the other path (SD), not both at the same time ??

EDIT:
I have to hide my GC Games on CFG, because other then you - i don't want the GC games to show.

Is it possible to load VC games installed on NAND through CFG loader? It doesn't show any installed channels.
I need to force 60 Hz mode for some N64 NTSC games on my European Wii U.

Forcing resolutions on games generally doesn't work very well. Why not just use the ones from your region?

I don't want PAL N64 games for obvious reasons.. And when you load NTSC VC games from the home menu on a European console, you get choppy/slow sound because the console is using 50 Hz for its VC mode.
Loading them with a proper refresh rate (60 Hz) fixes this, but you need a loader for that on a Wii U because you can't change the region of your vWii like you do on a normal Wii.
I tried it in USB loader GX and it works perfectly when setting it to 60 Hz. And since both Wiiflow and USB loader GX support loading channels, I thought there must be a way to do the same in CFG loader? So I wouldn't have to use a second loader only for VC games.

Is this possible in CFG loader or not? You didn't really answer my question.

"Obvious reasons" isn't obvious to me. Your description demonstrates why I asked why you aren't using your region's title. They don't work properly. Are these not titles you paid for because I will not help you if they aren't.

I've had Xenoblade Chronicles working on Wii with CFG USB Loader for over a year but it now goes to a black screen when I try to start it. I haven't made any changes. I'm on ios 249 I have made changes after it stopped working I tried Force NTSC, Force PAL, Default nothing fixes it. I even reripped the disc to the hard drive and same thing.

It says reading disc then I can get the first two screens talking about warning and your wiimote but then it's a black screen and I lose control of the wiimote I have to reboot the console.

Edit: turned out to be a bad rip.

This is getting a bit ridiculous... I didn't post my question to discuss why I want to use NTSC versions over PAL, there are tons of information about that on the internet if you are interested to know why PAL versions are inferior in most cases up to the 6th generation of consoles. I'm also not sure what this has to do with paid or unpaid titles, because it doesn't have anything to do with my question at all.
I just wanted a simple yes/no, and if yes I'd appreciate a description of how to do that. But for some reason you are avoiding my question.. If you don't know, just say you don't know.

Anyway, in case someone wants to help and answer my question.. I'd like to know whether it's possible to load installed channels in CFG loader, the same way you do in Wiiflow or USB loader GX.
Thanks in advance

I tried to use this but it just gives the same issue as NeoGamma: it says that it's trying to mount the USB drive, but it keeps failing and retrying in a loop. Then it tells me it can't detect the drive. Keep in mind I have the USB drive in port 0 (the one on the left when the Wii is standing up). I even tried port 1 but that didn't work either. It's not a fault with the ports since the ports work with the Wiimote recharging station. Maybe my USB drive is unsupported? It's a 4GB USB drive formatted to FAT32 that has enough room to fit about 3 or 4 WBFS games (assuming they are all 522 megabytes). Also of note: I have a black European Wii which I had since 2010, on the latest firmware (4.3e). I have the ISO56/ISO57 thing up to date (wasn't it called dev2 or something?) but all that did was prevent USB Loader GX from crashing (which just tells me it can't find the USB stick). WiiFlow on the other hand crashes as soon as I start it, whether I have the USB plugged in or not.

EDIT: I finally got it to work! I decided to put the WBFS game on the SD card instead of the USB stick, assuming the USB stick wasn't supported. Then, I launched CFG USB Loader and changed the device to 'SD card' and would you know it: the game appeared in the list! I launched it, expecting it not to work but nope; the game ran perfectly fine. This is the best USB Loader. Forget about the rest that are a pain to get working. I also really like how customisable the USB Loader's menu is.

Hey NinelivesBobcat!

I'm sure no expert but i can tell you what i know ;-)
I was using a big SD card and had some trouble with it, because the loader allways tried to mount a USB, so i went inside the settings (inside the loader) and changed it from "mount: USB1" to "mount SD".

Also, the compatebility with USB-sticks is very sketchy. I found out, the best way to test if a USB-stick is compatible, is to start up Wiiflow loader. Because if you start Wiiflow without a USB device connected it takes up to 30-40 sekunds to load, when you connect a USB device it only takes between 6-10 sek.

So if you connect your stick, start up your Wii, load Wiiflow and it still takes 30-40 sek that means (to me) the stick is not beeing recognised.

Plus you allways want to use the right USB port. The Wii calls this entry "USB1".

OOPPS - just seen your Edit now :wacko: :vul1: oh well, now you know how you can test your USB-stick ;)

PS: You can also use a big SD card - mine is 256 gb. You just have to make some thing to make it work.
