I was really hoping for things like new classes, maybe being able to use more then 1 big ability, expanded team size (4 would be nice) among other things. This just looks like its a glorified expansion they are trying to sell at full price to try and get away from past mistakes. Btw the second i hear they keep this full of microtransactions or do the BS where you cant play PvP without the expansion...im out.

I just don't get what makes this series so special to people that love it. I'm sure the story will be better this time around (I mean how couldn't it be). But I never found the gameplay to be anything unique or exciting at all, and I'm not seeing much here in this next title to change that feeling. It stinks cuz I do like Bungie, but there is no feeling for this franchise like Halo 2 really brought out in me all those years ago.
Well of course, you're comparing what's essentially a MMO with a singleplayer title.

I'm not comparing the franchises, I'm comparing the feeling that they elicited in me when I was first playing them. Halo 2 felt so exciting and new and fascinating. Destiny felt like, been there, done that, nothing about it was particularly exciting to me at all. Its a competent game, but I'm just very meh on it overall.

That's because its an MMO. The Genre is stagnating and always less exiting than perfectly paced Singleplayer games unless you seek for that coop Multiplayer experience.
Also it didn't help that Activision scrapped the entire Story Bungie had planned for the game like 1 year prior to release.

Nope, thats not the reason. I've had MMO's spark senses of awe and wonder in me. I'm speaking strictly from a gameplay point of view. Halo 2 managed to excite me, Destiny managed to... exist.

Again, that's because it's a stat reliant MMO. In Halo you didn't had to constantly pick up weapons of higher level you just got a weapon and it killed enemies. Also since this is a MMO bullet sponges are a thing. And bullet sponges never feel as satisfying to fight especially when Headshots don't 1HKO them. Have you ever played Borderlands? That game/s suffers from the same issues. A shame since Destiny was marketed as Borderlands done right, and then they made pretty much the same mistakes.

OK, apparently you know how I feel about these games better than I do, sorry to have tried to correct you about what these games make me feel based soley on their gameplay. I can appreciate any type of game, every genre, including MMOs have made me giddy with excitement before and continue to to this day. Destiny, however, didn't. Sorry if that bothers you, but it is what it is. If this game excites you, awesome, I personally don't get it. Despite similar MMO type games having excited me in the past.

Since you've ignored my question about Borderlands I'll just assume the answer is no and that you expect Destiny to be part of a Genre which it isn't. You can deny that all you want but that's how I see it.
And if you're gonna correct somebody at least bring arguments to the table. I've been strictly talking about gameplay when replying to you so I really don't get why you emphasize so much on it. To elaborate:
Looter Shooters, like Destiny, don't let you headshot to kill the enemy instantly instead headshot act as a critical hit and just take off more health than usual but it's nowhere near as effective as in an offline FPS. The focus with guns is on quantity, not quality and the enemies are often bullet spongy to emphasize coop gameplay and not well paced levels like what you'd find in an offline FPS.
Halo on the other hand you have none of that. Each enemy and gun in the game is well balanced around each other. That's just how the genres work and isn't just my opinion.

And to say "OK, apparently you know how I feel about these games better" in a sarcastic tone and then continue with "I personally don't get it" a few sentences later is pretty hypocritical. That's why I'm trying to explain you the difference between those games but you don't wanna hear it fore some reason.
