On the recent update of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe v1.1 Nintendo has removed the hand gesture of Splatoon Girl because some people might feel offended by it.

This is insane. Even Mario Kart isn't safe from what this or that might be considered "offensive."

Splatoon Girl was only doing the hand gesture "YES!" and this is deemed unacceptable.

For those that may defend the censorship, there are people who may indeed find it disrespectful but that's them and in real life, this is a fictitious, harmless video game that should be left alone from being censored.

Yep, that's for sure the best way to deal with women who show too much skin or something that's potentially offensive.

Why do people get so offended? Oh no, you were basically just flipped off without the actual finger. Who ever started the whole "take it down because it offends me" bs towards a game needs to have their head examined. Damn snowflakes need to back up if they know what's good for them and their sensitive lives.

In some regions, that action is considered offensive, similarly to how flipping people off is considered offensive. In Japan, I think it isn't offensive and that's why it was put in the game.
Had they known ahead of time, she wouldn't have had that animation.
So, I'd say the change is pretty harmless.

In America its super mild, someone might do the hand on the bicep while lifting the other hand here but its rare and not really well known as a rude gesture, but in certain parts of the world its well known and akin to giving someone the finger.
