Hi guys. I'm thinking of buying a new psvita from ebay. The ones i see the most are imports from Japan. Is there any way to find out which factory fw they have from the box? I've seen some models on ebay pch-2000 za22 (glacier white) or za23 (acqua blue) and on this site https://www.vitadevwiki.com/index.php?title=SKU_Models it says that they r manufactured on 2015. Is it safe to buy one of these or it may be new japanese models with fw over 3.60? Thanks in advance.

All brand new Vita's besides 2 new JP colors, Metallic Red and Silver, are guaranteed to be on 3.60 or lower. Make sure they're brand new, and you'll be fine.

Thanks for ur quick reply. I just checked these 2 colors that you mentioned and the models are PCH-2000 za25 and za26 released in December 2016. So i guess i'm good to go with other models like za11/12 etc to za24.

Hi i understand you answered the question. However i contacted a online retailer who has the pch-2000za22 and asked the firmware version (item is new) and advised
"As per feedback from our respective team, the firmware should be the latest
one. We're sorry that we are unable to disclose such information"

So did reply this statement because cant open the box, or to not advertise it is 3.60 or below or because it can be higher than 3.60?
Is there a chance it can be higher?
On their website it says official release date 2015 but were they produced 2016/17?
Conscious their return policy isnt for all orders..

Thanks for the reply

Ok, i havent seen ur post, because i rarely check my older posts after 2-3 months. Anyway, my experience with that is: some of them dont know even how to check it and others avoid to answer directly because they know that u r looking for a lower fw. And of course they dont want to loose a potential buyer. Finally i bought a model (indicated brand new) that it supposed to have a low fw, but it had the latest one at the time(and not 3.60 of course). From my understanding probably someone updated it, the box seal was opened but the psvita like new. Bad experience and i returned it back with full refund and found another one with the right fw. But even if you've got higher fw, after september a new hack for all 3.65-3.68 fw will be released.
