I don't think cramming everything would make a good game. I would rather a typical Mario Kart game again but with them fixing the physics and item distribution this time around. Cramming everything in would just be an excuse for a good game.

It is its own MK game and it can truly stand out from the Wii U MK8 by adding it's own DLC. Making a separate MK game for the Switch now would be a really stupid decision, and I would not hold my breath on that happening. Seriously, I don't see why they can't just add a full game's worth of new content to the game through DLC if they want. Imagine if the creators of Rocket League decided to release a new game of content, when continuously adding new content to the game through updates has worked so well. God that would be dumb.
Mario Kart 8 has been out for 3 years already. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was released as a definitive edition with everything supposedly included, so dragging things out further would just mess things up. Also, in the unlikely case that somebody can't get the DLC because they don't have internet or whatever, they'll be left out. Of course everybody here wouldn't mind, but still...

TL;DR no, put the tracks in a new game.

Next one should be "Mario Vs Sonic: Kart Transformed", should have pilot wings, wave race, mario kart and sonic characters and tracks all in one gloriously polished package.

Mario would've actually been in Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed if Sumo Digital didn't decide against it because of the Mario and Sonic Olympic series.
Sort of getting off topic, but yeah. It's on DidYouKnowGaming on YouTube.

Seeing how Nintendo will start charging to play online there's a good chance that their morals and standards of quality might lower down a bit in order to profit more. If EA (+ Activision, Ubisoft, etc) release those sports' games every year then what's stopping Nintendo from it? Nothing, really.

I just hope they don't actually go too deep into the likes of EA/Activision/Ubisoft business practices of publishing broken games (BotW was rushed but not broken) and what have you.

nonono, MK8D is not the Switch's Mario Kart game. it's a port. the Switch needs it's own MK as well.

What would be the point of a new Mario Kart?
It's the same generation of consoles technically. People would get disappointed by the very limited changes.

A new game for the game of a new game doesn't make sense here. There's no story or anything that would justify a sequel. Hence why "porting" isn't always a bad thing.
What they have to do however is maintain their game. Add more tracks overtimes and new features.

But then, what's the point of a new FIFA, PES, Madden or any of those when the publisher/devs could just release DLC content for them?

Exactly. Logically there should only be one Fifa/Madden/etc game for each console, with each season of players being available as DLC. The only reason to make Madden 2017 a different game from Madden 2016 is so they can charge you $80 a new game vs $30 for just a DLC addon. Do you really want Nintendo to go down that route?

Why in the hell can't this theoretical MK9 just be an entire game you download into MK8Deluxe? I mean who wouldn't want that and why? It'd be great to have all the MK8 features and MK9 features available in the same game. If you don't want that, you're insane. If you don't have the internet to DL new content in this day and age, I personally have no sympathy for you, and I really doubt that's a big deal for Nintendo either anymore, as the majority of their owners do indeed have internet access.

TL;DR yes, please for the love of god put the new tracks, racers, features, modes, etc into MK8 Deluxe instead of pointlessly releasing a separate game.

no, you're insane! why would you want a new installment to be just DLC for a port?!

I've been saying this the past few years. I understand the idea of releasing separate Maddens every year in the event you don't have the previous year's roster and junk, but if you already have Madden 17 and want that Madden 18 content, I see no reason why they could allow you to download 18 into your version of 17 and then be able to choose which version of the game you want to play within the game. This just makes sense in this day and age. Some games understand this kind of mentality like Rocket League, many games however just want to milk as much money as they possibly can from the consumer like EA so they aren't going to change to this smarter model (for the consumer) because this older model stands to make them more money. Nintendo to me seems far less evil than the likes of EA, so they might be inclined to follow the Rocket League model with something like Mario Kart.

LOL, are you expecting this theoretical Mario Kart 9 to somehow look drastically different than 8 Deluxe?? It would undoubtedly be on the same level of graphics, and hey if they add new modes like the old Double Dash mode, I don't see why they couldn't just work that in as an alternate mode to choose from within MK8Deluxe, you're blinded by the old way of thinking about video games. But hey maybe they could appease both fan bases, release a separate expansion game totally playable on its own without the MK8Deluxe content (if for some reason you don't want all that great MK8Deluxe content) or also completely downloadable into MK8Deluxe if you already have it. That would be fantastic.

1) Those that don't like buying digital games are screwed
2) Need an internet connection otherwise your screwed
3) The online community will be divided like the DLC packs in the original MK8

Also, Fifa and Madden only have cosmetic changes and slight stat alterations, and have frequent yearly iterations. We're talking about making 16+ tracks which take a lot of damn effort, and for the most part actually significant changes to the gameplay. Double Dash, Wii, 7, and 8 all have different mechanics. Fifa is still 'pass, tackle, shoot, score'.

Comparing a sports game to a racing game in my opinion is a stupid thing to try and do.

Pretty simple solution would be to release the new content as separate expansion game totally playable on its own without the MK8Deluxe content (if for some reason you don't want all that great MK8Deluxe content) or also completely downloadable into MK8Deluxe if you already have it. That would be a fantastic solution that I think makes a lot of sense and doesn't seem unheard of for Nintendo (its actually exactly what they did with New Super Luigi U).

Wow. Read what you just said.
Basically, a separate game using the same engine as before.

New Super Luigi U was playable on its own, but only as the retail disc.

Well if you consider New Super Luigi U a completely new game from NSMBU then sure. But you're failing to understand why it would be great to also be able to download it straight into your copy of MK8Deluxe so that when you're online you can play all your MK8Deluxe stages and the new stages all mixed together instead of being restricted to just the games on one of the titles (the same way how DLC from MK8 was handled online), but having just one of the title's content would also be an option for those that don't want to get the most out of Mario Kart as a platform.
