So i bought a (secondhand) Wii U a few days ago. And i actually can dl brain training for free. I'm not quite sure why. I've formatted fully so its not linked to the previous persons NNID (i think?)

But i'm wondering how safe CBHC is, if i get my NNID banned for example would i brick?
No, NNID bans don't affect purchased content.

I just read the setup steps, all the posts in this thread. I haven't played Wii in quite a while, and I currently have rhe old school mod that involves going to the web browser to launch the mod.

Now in my case, should I just follow the steps in the original post to permanently mod my WiiU? I want to play WiiU, Wii, and Game Cube games. I really don't care much for emulators or playing online/downloading DLC (though maybe later).

Also, am I correct when I read that, you need a separate HDD for vWii/Nintendont, and another HDD or use the SD card for WiiU games?

You need seperate HDD for vWii and Wii U games
SDCard is useless, it's only used to launch hacks and install games to NAND or USB HDD.
I only cover wuphax method for vWii then you have to follow another linked guide.

Yeah, just follow the steps but do everything like you just started with nothing.
Like replace old HBL with a new one, new appstore, everything new. [But by new I don't mean do a System format, I mean: Follow this guide like you just got your Wii U]

I currently have a 32gb card with WiiU games. So with your method, I would use a smaller SD card (I have a 4GB card lying around)? Would I be able to transfer my save games from my 32gb to the 4gb?

Speaking of saves, would I be able to somehow extract saves from my old Wii and restore them on vWii?

Keep thatb SDCard and just delete Loadiine format games. They're not needed and USB method defeats it in every way.
You might be able to, but I don't know if it's even possible. I never had OG Wii.

Can I use a 4gb instead so I can reuse the 32gb card somewhere else? LoadLiine games are useless with this method? What WiiU games do work with this method?

Thanks!

You need space to insert installation files to your SDCard.
After you're done 100% and overfilled your HDD then you can use 4GB one.
Every Wii U game that can be installed from eShop and disc dumps. [ex. CoD:Ghosts]

I saw this tutorial about Loadiine games, and WiiU/Wii/GC games on the same drive:

http://gbatemp.net/index.php?threads/460774/

What are your thoughts?

It would be a shame to scrap my Loadiine collection.
Tell me, why you want to stick to your Loadiine which is outdated as hell and doesn't support most recent games like BotW? You can just use USB, any damn USB Storage device and save games there, even on Wii U's memory.
And 100% of your 'Loadiine' collection games can be downloaded with Wii U USB Helper.

I think loadiine still has it's place. not as an extracted full game launcher but for VC injects as you can have a whole bunch of them and none of them count towards the max title limit. swapping out configs and roms is super easy also.

For VC injects, it's really good but for games like BotW, it's dramatic.
And you should only keep VC's and install rest to the USB HDD. :)

I just like the idea of not getting rid of my Loadiine games (about 500gb), and not having to get another collection (I wouldn't even know what format to use with Mocha CFW). Plus, that guide in the link says the same drive can be used for WiiU, Wii, and GC games.

Interesting since Wii U will nag you to your own grave.
I smell BS floating in the air... Yeah, nope. If you hide it using UStealth which you need to do using vWii, it will be undetected.
Also, holy shit you have a 500GB SDCard or what? Loadiine is used to load games from SDCard afaik.

My Loadiine games are on SD. I don't have CFW on my WiiU yet. I am just considering my options before I commit to Mocha CFW, and effectively starting over with my WiiU game collection.

I appreciate the feedback!
