So I just started messing around with this. I figured to copy the retroarch folder that comes with cia's to the root of the SD card, would have been nice if that was mentioned in the OP as I couldn't get anything working when I initially just downloaded some emulators from FBI.

It seems to me GBA does not run very good. This is surprising, I have a New 3DS but wasn't GBA emulation working flawlessly on PSP? I have Minish Cap ambassador game and it runs perfect, is VC inject the best way to play GBA roms? I also ran it to a couple of roms that wouldn't load, is compatibility not perfect?

I'm not seeing Catsfc or Catsfc Plus in either the latest stable or nightly builds but it's mentioned in the OP.. also, which version of snes9x is recommended?

Edit: I'm also not seeing mgba in the latest releases

no, gba emulation wasnt flawless on psp. it was good, but you needed like 3 separate emulators because some wouldn't play some games, and others wouldn't play others.
on n3ds, the gba emulator should run full speed for almost every game. but it, to this day, suffers from severe crashing issues.
so far, it ran every game i threw at it, so it might be bad downloads on your end. maybe tell us what games wouldn't load at all.

overall though, yes, if you want a crash-free experience, you should probably opt for the vc injects. ever since they found out how to get rid of the blurr and darkened colors, those became very, very playable

with gpSP I always see a glitched line at the top of the screen, is this normal, or something in my settings? (the bios I use matches the official md5)

I only tried Aria of Sorrow and just noticed it was slow and the music sounded messed up. Lucky there isn't too much outside of Metroid I like to play on GBA and for that I have EZ Flash IV and DS lite, GBA SP, and Gameboy Player but I find the best way to play GBA is on the Wii U except it's not portable.

I will probably inject a few games to at least give it a try.

theres a setting for that, i believe its frame delay. set it to 1 and outside of speeding up a game, the line should be gone

where did you notice slowdowns?
its playing just fine for me.
as for sound, it does have a tendency to start screwing up after using savestates or playing around in the retroarch menu in general. it usually gets normal again after some time.
are you sure you're using a new 3ds?
anyway, injection, if you don't need those advanced emulation functions like speeding up a game and savestates, should work perfectly for you.

anyone know why gpsp and gambatte have tendency to crash when rewinding and sometimes loading and saving states?

also why does it take forever to save and load states?

Where can I download the cia of catsfc? That's the best one, right?

Does mgba need a bios?

Which of the genesis ones should I use?

Did you link for the genesis part? There is more than one there I think. Guess Genesis plus gx will be ok.

Catsfc wasn't there, unless it's one of the snes9 ones?
