Instructions
http://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/playstation/vita/

Download the package for vita in the nightly builds section. Tested with snes, but it should work on all the emulators.

1. Install snes 2002 or snes 2005, or install both (you can install both or more)
2. Overlays/Filters go into "ux0:/data/retroarch/overlays (.png and .cfg files)
3. Start the snes emulator, go to option "Onscreen Display/Onscreen Overlay", set the Overlay Scale to 1.32 or 1.33 and Overlay Opacity to 1.00 (whatever works best for you, on pstv or psp vita).
4. Load your Rom (roms can be placed into any folder you create, just browse to it, set the folder path in the "Directory" option from Retroarch's Options

(about 6 filters options, the blocks and the pebble filters will help remove any banding)
(grabbed a old release from reddit someone made and used it as a template to create my own using adobe photo shop and Microsoft Office Picture Manage (to resign the file, with the color option, then enhance button, then save (wanted to use corel draw and spend more time on it, but there wasn't anything too difficult to do with the other easier to use programs)

Thanks, with that I should be able to add a 6xBRZ overlay version to the package and complete the full set, well, all finished. I went back and made the ones I had full screen. You can download both packages the one in OP and "isoboy"'s package. You can add up to 9 overlays, so you have extra room.

Okay, I found them eventually in the data file in the retroarch link. I hate to say this but the slowdowns are massive. Basically unusable.

Hi, I noticed all you're overlays are at 1920x1080 this is 4x for the vita resolution so they should be resized to 920x540 this will help performance. Filters, as far as I know, are completely broken and freeze retroarch. If you run into this problem just erase your retroarch cfg vs having to reinstall or if you have the patience to find it delete the filter out of the text file.

yep if they are 940x540 you just scale it to 1 the op is 1080 yours is fine. I'm going to try to make some more as I go. I could care less about the filters I think if you can get the right screen overlay the game was made for it makes all the difference.

You keep saying 940x540...but that's not the Vita's native resolution. Sure, you can scale it but the overlay image won't be pixel perfect. I did like a super zoom in photoshop and copy/paste'd every other line to make my overlay pixel perfect. Am I wrong?

the ones I'm making will be 960x544 and yours are too if I'm correct. I was speaking to the original poster if he wanted to scale without distortion but yes they should be made from scratch to resolution. Just got my handheld and basic CRT pack done. will be working on more coming up enjoy. Scale is 1x, and set opacity to what you like. GBA works for gb and gbc as well. my apologies isoboy you are right wasn't trying to say you where wrong just have slight dyslexia and 2 kid kept messing up the numbers.

you can do everything but post process. so you can change hue or colorize, add pre-cooked light or shadow. you couldn't actively blend or blur but you could add a haze. So it's like limited filtering. There is video filters besides the overlays but they are currently broken and cause retroarch to freeze.
