How to run PS1 Emulator on Xbox One

Update: This Method No Longer Works as it has been pulled from the store.

Disclaimer- As always I encourage you to only use roms or Image files from games you already own.

If you have already read my "How to run GBA Emulator on Xbox One" this one is very similar.

[1.] First go to the store and search for WinPDFReader
[2.] Purchase it (At the time of writing it's going for $9.99
[3.] Once installed open it and press LB & RB + LT & RT at the same time

You will now see a menu that looks exactly like this. You can either download your backups through your Onedrive account or load them from storage.

The performance of the Emulator is pretty good. Most games run between 30 - 60 FPS The audio at the moment is a bit choppy but the developer is working on a fix.

Here is a video with several games being tested from Crash Bandicoot to FFVII.

Edit: For Crash Bandicoot you will want to set Sound Sync to on this will keep the framerate locked to 30 FPS for a smooth experience.

why do you have to pay for them? thats bullcrap! combined with the 20 bucks for the dev account, thats really bad. plus, most people wont even accept to pay for the dev account, (guilty as charged, im a student so i used MS imagine) and on top of all that the emulators are crap.:hateit::shit:

1. All of the Emulators I have ported over are free

2. I actually do this weird thing called "Testing" them before they ship out for people to download

3. They all run really fast, I don't put out garbage

4. I try to always include the source code from the author/s if possible or a link to it

But hey that's just how I do things ;)

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

You're a martyr. Like seriously. Sacrificing money to see what works or not. Wish there was a bigger base of Xbox One users with dev accounts so they could see and experience all sorts of emulation they can be running with.

Thanks haha i like the title :D

I don't know many of you but I try to put myself in your shoes. I try to always do things based on what benefits the community as a whole. Even if that means 4 to 5 hours of sleep a night and throwing away some money I genunienly care about this community and want to allow people to have as much fun with their Xbox Hardware as possible.

oh ok lol. so you have made emulators before?

Well I have ported all of these Emulators over to the Xbox One I wasn't the original author of them no.

NESBOX
PPSSPP
VBA10
Win64e10 (A Fork of Mupen64)

Sorry if there was any confusion. i wasn't intending to impy that I made them but I did handle building alot of them and porting them over to Xbox One (Dev Mode)

As well as writing the tutorials for how to obtain and install them

It's more involved than just "Finding Them On the interent". Alot of times you have to rebuild them from source (PPSSPP for example) and the create a .appx package or try and hunt down an obscure .appx only to find out it's an ARM Build so then you have to search til you finally locate a x64 build then locate dependecies etc. Not to mention having to write tutorials for every emulator too. It's work man. And Yes they did

I wouldn't say "Hard" but it is very tedious, and time consuming. But seeing others get more enjoyment out of their Xbox makes it worth it for me

It's possible if the team at Dolphin or PCSX2 wanted to do a UWP Port. I'm currently working on porting nulldc (Dreamcast Emulator) over to Xbox One but I need help. Shotout to anyone with a decent amount of knowledge or experience with the UWP C++ Platform. And really? Were you following this tutorial?

You shouldn't be getting any errors. P.M. Me you errors and I'll assist you further

Yep you heard that right  But like I said I need some help on taking it (Right now it's a win32 desktop application) and porting the code over to a UWP C++ Project. I've been looking it over and I can confirm that I know how to optimize it at compile time and make it run very fast. I expect performance to be really good on the Xbox One. B-)
