SaveMii
Latest version: v1.2.0 (Apr 09, 2017)

I'm not activelly working on this anymore.

This homebrew allows you to backup your Wii U and vWii savegames to the SD card and also restore them. Up to 256 backups can be made per title. Backups are stored in sd:/wiiu/backups.

This is my first time doing Wii U stuff, so please report any issues that may occur.

Thanks:
- @dimok, for libiosuhax and libfat for Wii U
- @Maschell, for dynamic_libs

So if we restore a save game...can we load it using sysnand? (istead of cfw) or only works for cfw? (I mean restore. I know we need to use CFW for dump the save game)
BTW Amazing work :)

It will backup/restore the saves from/to whatever NAND you're currently in.
You can transfer RedNAND saves to sysNAND if you backup your RedNAND saves and restore them on SysNAND, for example.

Finally someone made something like SaveGame Manager GX for Wii U, fantastic!
After you implemented the multi user feature you could also look into Loadiine compatibility.
Switching savegames between Loadiine (SD:\wiiu\saves) and sysNAND/USB is the only reason to use Saviine for me.

A note on savegames between Loadiine and NAND:
Every user seems to have an unique ID that starts with 8000000x and the X seems to be a random number for each user. In my case it's 4 for example and I just found out by dumping a random game's save with Saviine.
So to implement Loadiine compatibility you just have to "map" those folders (as it has to be done with Saviine right now):
SD:\wiiu\saves\Game [ID6]\c
is the common folder for NAND saves
SD:\wiiu\saves\Game [ID6]\u
is the user folder (8000000x) for NAND saves

I dunno how you could let your tool figure out that x (maybe just by dumping something) but once it has it it can move saves between NAND and Loadiine folders on SD without problems I guess. Hope that helped.

I've been waiting for a program like this… Looking forward to trying it! Are the saves able to be moved to a different Wii U? Thanks!

does the app generate the "backup" folder ?

if so i feel it would be better to have this is the SD root ,it would certainly assist with appstore updates / so as to be careful not to delete the backups directory

Is it also possible to inject/extract savegames directly into/from a usb installed game? (Without using saviine anymore?)

Yes, it scans both mlc and usb for titles.

Technically yes, but the user save folder would needs to be renamed for the other Wii U (at least for now).

So how about sd:/wiiu/backups to keep the SD root "clean"?

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
