You guys always bitch & whine, what you never do is post a release date for a major title from a third party that every other platform is getting.
LC:U - 4/7 April 2017
Stardew Valley - summer <- inb4 "not exact date, doesn't count"
Sonic Mania - summer
Skyrim - Fall
Sonic Forces - Holiday
Redout - Q2 2017
NBA 2k18 - September
FIFA - TBD
Steep - TBD

no indies OR exclusives (which there are far more of) are listed (minus Stardew and Redout which i'm not sure if they do or don't count as indies) and E3 is coming in < 3 months so expect games there as well (Dark Souls anyone?)

Fifa is getting to the Switch? Really? What did Nintendo do to make EA do another Fifa game?

Also spoiler: it's gonna suck for sure, but if it's also gonna be a port of Fifa 15...oh boy, that's going to be a hell of a shitstorm to watch.

To him, "major" probably means something along the lines of Assassin's Creeed, Tom Clancy games, Dishonored, Prey, Doom, Final Fantasy XV, Mass Effect, GTA, etc.

There's more to third party games outside of Ubisoft/EA/Besthesda/Square/Rockstar and such. There's some third parties that are bringing games here that I'm hyped for. Not as much as the other platforms, but they're there. At the moment Dragon Quest XI or a SMT is what I'm hyped up the most about.

Well, he used "getting" not "got" which rules out pretty much everything you listed as "major", so I couldn't really do anything about that as games like GTA and the good Mass Effect games are already out and therefore other platforms are not 'getting' them as they already 'have' them.

I was just thinking that his idea of 3rd party games was limited to what people normally think of for 3rd party titles, like CoD.

But as far as the wording goes, my bad I didn't read his comment fully, thus listed an improper list. I saw you listed Skyrim, so I was under the wrong assumption. Allow me to revise:

Prey, Middle Earth: Shadow of War, Red Dead Redemption, South Park: The Fractured But Whole, Kingdom Hearts 3, Tekken 7, Project Cars 2, Destiny 2, Injustice 2, Star Wars Battlefront 2, and many others.

I wish there was a list of devs. Were Japanese devs part of it? More importantly was Falcom part of it? I'd like to see Ys or a kiseki game on the switch
Falcom has a very close relationship with Sony these days and do to some of the development troubles they've had I think they're going to try and focus more on one platform/ If any of their games were ever ported to the switch it would likely be by another party like the recent Ys origin port.

That is true and most likely the case, which would be unfortunate for me as I would like to play the next incarnations of Ys or trails/kiseki games for the switch. But the last 10 years their games have been entirely on sony systems, with the occasional PC ports.

Unfortunately, this survey's results are a bit dated, from other sources it was taken back in December 2016, with people reporting on it back in early January, so... it really doesn't have any bearing on the future of the switch, when did they even announce the release date for it? And the amount of developers who were actively making games for the switch back in December are, of course, relatively few.

I suspect this will change quickly. The Switch is Nintendo's best selling hardware at launch to date, better than the Wii even. If the underpowered Wii was able to maintain the amount of support it had, I see no reason that the Switch is doomed in the same way that the Wii U was.

LOLS, I love the part of the debate when switch adopters are in denial of getting shit on by third parties that you all become delusional and start debating what people mean by "major third party titles" like you're all super casual or something.

Enjoy those Ninten-tax'ed scraps while the rest of us have a meal.

I don't really remember that time... Perhaps it was before 1983?
It was during most of the 80s, actually. Home computers were far too expensive to compete with a dedicated gaming machine during those times. Personal computers were also not standardized and highly proprietary between manufacturers, right up until the IBM-Compatible became the "PC Standard"

Chill out dude. Many switch owners also own other consoles as well, so they'll get the best of both worlds. It's just unfortunate that people who ONLY have a switch won't be able to experience a good number of third party titles, just like how people who don't own a switch won't get to experience Nintendo's first party titles.

As click-baity as this thread is, what is the purpose of grouping anyone you disagree with into a "task force" or a "brigade" that doesn't exist?
That's cute to make assumptions. Really. If you haven't been paying attention. It's not going to change anything to explain now.. But YES, there are people dedicated to shifting on the console for no reason.

Then maybe silly switch fanbois should making these stupid threads citing last-gen ports and indie titles perpetrating the myth that Nintendo is getting third party support this time around, all it does is perpetuate butthurt threads in the future during Nintendo game droughts of "I thought it be different this time" when they are excluded from every major third party current gen title on the calendar.

Perhaps, no idea.
Back in the 80s I was a C64 guy, and the C64 was quite popular.
I then went directly into IBM/PC, and all the type of games that came with it, specially the old Lucas Arts adventure games, at that time it also was quite popular.
Also, thought I never got into the Amiga and ST, those two computer were quite popular as gaming platforms in the late 80s/ early 90s, specially in Europe. No idea, back in the day I had a NES (a Famicom actually), but I always felt PC gaming was very popular, it was what I played the most.

The switch is getting SOME third party AAA titles, even if it's a small amount. Those "fanbois" that you absolutely detest just don't like it when people say they'll be getting NO third party support, especially when said in a degrading manner. A lot of them have accepted it too. But not all hope is lost. If nintendo is good at anything, it's throwing out first party titles. If the switch can get a large amount of good first party games to keep the switch successful, we can give the 3rd party devs much more reason to port their games over too. It's definitely possible.

Erm...I wish I could share that optimism, but it's not entirely fair.

From what I recall, the wii was so insanely popular at launch that it sold out for a long period of time. As a result, beating the wii to "best selling hardware at launch" can be done even by shipping the same amount as wii's +1 . Of course it's still great news, but the timeframe is still too early to really say anything (which is probably because nintendo is, in fact, not saying anything).

From what I also recall, the wii was all but "able to maintain the amount of support it had" at the end. The year before the wiiu launched, pretty much all but just first party and 'just dance'-titles were available. It's not that other devs didn't brought ports, but the weaker hardware made the wii version always the inferior. Which caused people to buy other versions, which in the end resulted in other devs not developing for the wii anymore.
