How would I go about replacing my SD reader? Do you think it would be possible to remove the other half by taking out my SD reader (it's pretty far in)? Or should I just replace the reader, and how hard is it to do that?

The New3DS SD reader is very easily replaceable, you could just order a replacement take out the old one and put in a new one. Or you could do what @The Real Jdbye said. How would I go about replacing my SD reader? Do you think it would be possible to remove the other half by taking out my SD reader (it's pretty far in)? Anyway, try pushing the card in with something small and thin and quickly releasing it, making use of the spring loaded slot to hopefully propel the remains of the card far enough out that you can grab it. I've come across SD slots that would launch the card across half the room if I wasn't careful when ejecting it. The 3DS one certainly isn't powerful enough to do that, but it might be enough to get the remains out.
Will do! So no soldering? Neat! The New3DS SD reader is very easily replaceable, you could just order a replacement take out the old one and put in a new one. Or you could do what @The Real Jdbye said.
Pretty rough, I tried pushing the other half in, to spring it out, with no luck. Now it's just stuck pretty far down in the SD reader. How rough were you that this happened?
