Can someone please help with installing Pokemon Nova Sun via HANS? I've tried repeatedly and everytime, the output romfs file it gives me is only 16 KB, which (obviously) doesn't work. I have no idea what I'm missing, so does anyone have any ideas?

Also, here is the text from setup.bat, if it helps: http://pastebin.com/vCXNTehK

Thank you very much in advance!
what you do is randomize there game but don't change anything then rebuild the romfs file and use that with Hans

I have a pack of the salty SD version but I am waiting for Dio to look at it what it does is it adds both versions in one folder and adds the creation of a salty SD folder with the addition off random builds

After I hit Y for randomize, would I extract and then open the output romfs file in PK3DS?

...also, when you replied, the thought just occurred to me to extract what setup gave me and see what's inside, and all there is is a single file named "m".

...and well, as such, when I try to open the output extracted romfs file, it won't open (obviously).

...

Program 1.3a for adding SALTYSD to output folder is all done and tested, bot Nova and Umbra can create CIAs, 3DSs, Hans, and SaltySD Folder from within one set of files and is easily updated. Dio, check your PMs , I will soon send you a link to test it ........ rcamp48

Quick question, would you be able to push out a small buff for Alolan Raichu and Sandslash in the next update? As it stands, Pikachu cannot be evolved into Raichu until 42, otherwise you miss out on Thunderbolt. He's essentially deadweight for a while, especially when evolutions start picking up.

Likewise, Alolan Sandslash learns Icicle Crash at Level 0, which means it's only available from the Move Reminder. I'm not sure if the game would consider it legal, but if it does, having Icicle Crash be his evolution move instead or with the current one would be really helpful.

I think Pika/Raichu is in a good spot. You can snag Discharge at Level 34 or wait until 42 for extra power from Thunderbolt, and waiting with a Pikachu isn't exactly hard since wild Pichu/Pikachu have a 50% chance of holding Light Balls.

Hi! Wow, that's an amazing mod... but I've found a little problem in Umbra_Moon.7z: when I start the game with Citra, it can't load my save data.
I've manually restored the original Extracted_ROM/exefs/code.bin before rebuild and now it works perfectly.
Hope this helps ^.^

Certain Pokémon now learn certain moves earlier to promote a more enjoyable experience to their users.

I should have every species done in the next couple weeks, and these changes will come in v1.4 of the ROM hack alongside some other changes.

Is that change implemented even in the legit build? If that is correct, what's the point on have a legit build?

The legit build doesn't change the encounter locations. If you follow the directions in the evolution methods, you should be able to play online even with wrongly evo'd pokemon

More details:
- I've downloaded the Distribution Toolkit Packs for Umbra Moon
- When I choose the Expanded version, there are no changes in wild pokémon encounters. To solve the problem, I've downloaded the SaltySD Pack for Umbra Moon Expanded and I've copied all the ROM files in Extraced_ROM/RomFS. Now it works perfectly and I can resume my non-modded saved game in Citra (I'm still using the original code.bin file generated by the .3ds rom extractor instead of the one in Files/exefs).

Again, hope this helps ^.^

I apologize, I actually missed something in the instructions for PK3DS.

Anyway, I would open the Extracted_ROM folder with PK3DS, but in doing so I would get an error essentially telling me I should turn on JIT Debugging. Clicking "Continue" would result in nothing happening. Is that normal or...?

Ah, I didn't realize that they could be found sitting on wild ones. I've actually had a large incentive to catch wild Pokémon this time around because their items are fairly helpful, but I think I just naturally assumed that "I've already caught a Pikachu to use, why would I get another?".

Actually, on that, I need to say... I'm finally realizing just how amazing the new hold item list is. I didn't explore it much in RRSS aside from Mega Stones and EV items, but after playing this a bit more, it's absolutely genius. For the first time in a Pokémon game, the incentive to catch wild Pokémon, even ones you don't want to use, is incredibly high. Being able to fill your Pokédex and simultaneously collect and gather new items to help you, or simply going around in the grass and collecting items from wild Pokémon to potentially help with a tougher spot and give your own team a boost is really great. I'm happy you took time to implement what I'd assume to be a tedious and demanding feature.

Thanks for the tip about the Light Ball, again, too!

I'm not talking about encounter tablet, but moveset changes... If a Pokémon has a mover earlier that it should be, that wouldn't be legal to trade

Still applies to the same rules as the OP says. For example, Vikavolt. I am not sure if it learns a move when leveling up. If it does, then that means that if you evolved the same level it evolved into charjabug, then it would be illegal, but as long as you leveled it up once before using the thunder stone, you would be OK because Vikavolt can evolve as long as it levels up in that one canyon

Can you explain a little the way it works now?

The move relearner can teach a Pokemon any move in its level-up learnset, including those that are learnt at a higher level than it is currently.

The change is likely why it's been moved all the way to the Pokemon League, to prevent players from teaching Pokemon high-level moves too early.
