I tried to find a pic with much colours. I thought it's better to see with a dark background. I can make another pic in bright light and normal home screen.

Instead of doing that, run screeninfo.3dsx or 3dsident to find out for sure.

But for this i have to install homebrew right? I don't want to modify my 3DS. Because of this point i try to find it out that way.

I made test with two 2DS with dual TN screens, but!
Top screen colors at white 2DS look slightly better for me. Both set maximum 5 level brightness.

I guess mine are both TN what a shame.
Sorry on low light my phone takes horrible photos, and the last one is on normal lighting.

Does anybody know if my system has dual IPS screens or not? Also, what is up with this weird "tint" on the top screen?
It Might be that the 3D mode is messing with the camera. Normally, if the bottom screen is IPS, the top is also.
Or it could be dust under the screen. I hate that.

I actually have seen one dual IPS NEO system on eBay once but it was sold from China, would likely not be a USA region system, and was an XL model (which I don't really want). I do find it ironic that the superior screen on my system would be the screen that I would hardly ever look at though. :rofl2:

Also: look at that amount of people viewing this thread.

I also have a dual IPS NEO.
And it is a really old model. Not region locked. :toot: :yay3ds: looks like :nds: when showing rainbows no matter what angle and mode it is on.

After checking with 3DSident, I figured out that both screens actually are IPS. One person actually did tell me that the bottom screen is likely IPS NEO but that my top screen isn't. From what I know, the regular IPS screens seem to have that tint while IPS NEO screens don't.

Hi.

I recently found my N3DS Majora's mask has only IPS on top and mi N3DS Solgaleo/Lunala has both TN :'(.

I'm thinking about seriously changing my Solgaleo edition for the New Pikachu one. So I want to ask if anyone know what screen is regular to have on that new PIkachu N3DS.

Update: Never mind, í found out all Pikachu N3DS are Dual TN.

I have read 2 people here that have the Solgaleo N3DS and both has TN both screens so I think this edition was more regular with TN over iPS. That's why I ask about the New Pikachu N3DS.

Thanks for the answer.

BTW it's a shame that Nintendo Switch has this practice too. Some has the tablet with TN and others with IPS. Nintendo is playing dirty with us, don't you think?
