Hahaha. You can view the sites, and the gifs work. But if you try to start a video it just gives you an error, then you have to restart your console all over again.

I have found that this does not happen when watching Facebook videos using the "posting to social media" link to "link" Facebook (do not actually link it) then scroll to the bottom and click "pages" or any other link. any links that leave Facebook will not load but videos on Facebook Timelines/Pages will load and play whereas they crash playing the same videos via the Captive Portal method.

Nintendo.com is whitelisted also so you can use the Twitter link then on the left is a link for "Privacy Policy" to get to Nintendo.com and it will load.

Can someone check pornhub??
either pornhub, hentaihaven, or xvideo. those sites are awesome.
if it works, im purchasing a Switch.
A triple AAA Nintendo machine on the go or home console with porn is a dream
For science I checked and PH works perfectly, HH doesn't at all.

It seems to support most HTML5 streams up to 720p. It does not play MP3 / OGG, but it does play AAC. SoundCloud doesn't work, BandCamp doesn't work (unless you go to download for one track only and choose AAC).

Well, I used the Charles method and the "registration is required to use this network" method, but surely it's the same applet..?

Edit: Ok just checked, using the DNS method makes the browser crash when playing certain videos, using Charles, it works fine. That's really odd.

Feel like people are really underestimating the growth of this community. They keep comparing it to when the 3ds was first hacked, not that it was drastically small back then but it surely is growing fast. I'm not saying we will get any sort of hacks soon but seeing how this community is advancing makes me think we will have something before the end of this year. Just saying, maybe i'm crazy. :)

Could someone check Otaku-Streamers and Crunchyroll please?

Crunchyroll wants Flash ,so nope :/
EDIT: I got it to load the mobile page with a older Windows Phone User-Agent, BUT the video STILL WANTS FLASH to play, EPIC FAIL

FUNimation tries to work but their new HTML5 player (their old player would have worked if the Switch had come out last year to try it) errors out before the Switch can "grab" the video.

I will try Otaku-Streamers later today and report back.
EDIT: Otaku-Streamers is close but fails to play the video (mobile site, full site uses flash so it fails before even getting to load the video)

Support Code: 2810-2750
This video cannot be played.

Thank you for trying! :) I hope all that can be sorted out in the future but I wish desktop sites would stop using Flash entirely, I don't even have Flash installed anymore on my PC and spoof everything that wants it to mobile-sites :/

I was checking the HTML 5 Test and noticed the browser supports "Access to webcam" (user media).
From what I know the Nintendo Switch doesn't have any cameras or microphones, so why would they support user media at all?.

That along with the fact it appears to be a modified version of the 3ds firmware, or at the very least use a lot of similar syscalls. And because the 3ds hackers already know the 3ds very well, it could POTENTIALLY decrease the time it takes to go from a webkit exploit to taking over userland. Though they will probably have to recreate a new format for the homebrew though, along with creating new dev tools or modifying the previous ones to work with switch (if it is indeed similar to 3ds)

As for OP, will this block updates as well?

from what I have noticed, the Switch hits up conntest.nintendowifi.net each time it does something network related like eShop or system update checking. if it fails to connect to it or is redirected (like what my Fidder Browse Anywhere method uses) then it wont get updates. In fact, when that page is redirected using Fiddler, clicking on System Update will open the portal page (https://www.google.com) rather than checking for an update. I use it is a faster way to get back to the web browser as I do not need to do a connection check each time once I have done it once.

Probably so anyone can upload the photos and such to Facebook/Twitter. The switch has to act like it has one through coding trickery so that the websites can access your sdcard or wherever the photos get stored. Smartphones use the same privileges that you have to authorize or you can't post any media.
