A few hours ago I installed, Haxchi and later CBHC and everything worked fine, I installed several channels and dlcs and perfect, but a few hours later I turned on the console and it gives me error 160-0101 and it tells me that I have to turn off the console.

Some help?
Do you remember what titles you've installed?
Did you unplug your usb drive while installing cbhc?

^ literally the exact questions I asked on the previous page. Did you read the thread before posting?
No I did not, it's not like I have the time to read every single answer.
Sorry if you feel offended but I'm just trying to get to the bottom of this issue since this is not not the first case.

Well guys, it's all said, I just have to know if I can recover the console alone with the otp in the near future
It would be useful if you could provide us with the title ids of the channels you've installed.
I'm afraid you're out of luck but we could still figure out what caused this if it's not a hardware failure.

Not calling you a liar but did you honestly buy the game on eshop cause it's not the first time someone bricked from not using an official download of the game. Like you said it worked for a few hours which it would of done if you installed cbhc over a non legit title until you reboot later. Also did you have any non legit ds titles as well on your system and when selecting the game in cbhc, because you may of accidentally choose a non eshop ds game by mistake in the selection menu.

Brick reports from novice (low post count, < 1 year) users and with incomplete details shouldn't even be counted as confirmed bricks, with all due respect.

Correct me if I'm wrong but that would make the number of CBHC -related bricks (from reputable users) without blatant user error still at zero.

To the OP: don't get your hopes too high for an easy/inexpensive repair. On the other hand, you just need a new central unit, as you're wiiU gamepad (the most expensive part in the used market) is perfectly fine. You could even buy a white basic 8GB unit (just remember it has to be PAL if your current kit is PAL). I've seen them going for as low as 70€ in the EU-wide search on ebay. That's barely more than the full price of a retail game. (that's also a reason for using CBHC without being too dramatic about the risks...bricking a WiiU is always a 40% damage to the whole kit...you just have to remember that gamepad and main unit must be from the same region).

You are correct.
Despite what many say CBHC is pretty safe if done properly.
That said I believe we have to investigate this kind of issues just in case.

I agree. I really want to know if this is user error or blatant CBHC corruption. I just truly hope the OP will be specific without fear of being ridiculed if it was indeed user error.

@Carlos_DobleC

I respect your posting. And I respect you as a user. Please don't take this as a dig. We all screw up.

We really need as much info as you can supply. Some of us are worried of potential non user induced bricks. I for one recommend CBHC as much as I can. It's been extremely reliable and solid for me. I want to eliminate as much user error as possible in your diagnosis.

It's important to the community that you be as honest as possible. Your answer could either help further bullet proofing CBHC or set us back with unessessary fear mongering (which is a daily battle on Gbatemp for people who understand CBHC). Your thread title alone could mislead many if it's an actual user error.

@FIX94, what are your thoughts?

Is there any work being done for a coldboot solution that doesn't involve DS VC? I have CBHC 1.6 installed, and while it works perfectly, I'm worried something bad could happen despite proper use.

You can cold boot to mocha using quickstart and browser.

ah yes, people "uninstalling" because its "unsafe"; just so you know, doing that over and over can cause a brick on its own if the NAND sector that is being written to happens to be close to death, that is one of the very few factors I cant exactly protect for, the NAND sector of the system.xml actually being factory-damaged already so both installing AND uninstalling have that risk. Really though, with the wiiu chip pretty much anything can break even without cbhc, also on top of that to the few people that said to not install injects, when using the cbhc included cfw it protects against installs with a same title id, I bet op used mocha or something because he thought its "better" and overwrote himself; really all I can do is warn for all of that in my main thread and thats about, bricks will always happen for stupid reasons like that.
oh also you should note even a system update could cause a dumb brick for the same nand related reasons.

Thanks for your post, and for your work on CBHC.

May I ask, could you comment on whether installing CBHC whilst in patched sysmenu, like I did, was risky? Thanks

Love to have you here but many of your posts make little sense. I don't know if you're using Google to translate but if you are it's not working very well. You're English is very hard to understand on most of your posts. Don't know if any other users have told you. Wanted to let you know not as a jerk I just think your translator must suck
Thx for info :).
i'm sorry for poor English. I do not use it every day... I promise improvement ..

Guys, I'm in class, this afternoon I'll try to write a post in which I clarify all the doubts explaining exactly what I installed and did.

Stumbled across this with search.. for the record if anyone else has this error code.. Long story short.. I had CBHC. My system would often freeze. I thought I'd try a factory format.. I didn't check the warnings about CBHC format brick.. I now too get 160-0101 on boot.. Teardown for fun time!

Ps.. oh, I had a Rednand/Mocha.. it can't be useful can it? I'll hold on the hammer until tomorrow!

rednand/mocha already accomplished their purpose: causing the freezes that ultimately lead you to brick

should have just used CBHC starting from a clean Wii U

start searching for a barebone (no gamepad no box no cables) Wii U system on ebay
