Resevoir Dogs getting video game adaptation

In what seems to be a trend of older movies getting video game tie-ins, movie studio Lionsgate will be partnering with indie game studio Big Star Games in order to create a video game adaptation of Reservoir Dogs, titled Resevoir Dogs: Bloody Days. The game is a celebration of the film's 25th anniversary, and will be releasing this Spring. It's set to release initially for Steam/PC, and will get an Xbox One version later down the line. Big Star Games states that they will be making sure that the game stays loyal to the movie, and will include the movie's star characters to play as. According to the press release, Bloody Days is set to be an "action-shooter" style of game.

It’s About Bloody Time – New Reservoir Dogs: Bloody Days Video Game to Be Released in Spring 2017

Big Star Games and Lionsgate unveil action shooter with innovative gameplay mechanic as 25th anniversary of iconic movie’s release approaches

BARCELONA, Spain – March 10, 2017 – Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF.A, LGF.B), a premier next-generation global content leader, in partnership with independent video game publisher Big Star Games, has announced the upcoming release of the action-packed shooter Reservoir Dogs: Bloody Days. Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the cult-favorite film from Lionsgate’s vast film and television library, Reservoir Dogs: Bloody Days combines all the drama and tension of the movie with a unique “Time Back” gameplay mechanic. The game is expected to launch worldwide later this year, first on Steam (PC), followed by an Xbox One version.

Adding a new level of strategy to the action-shooter genre, players will be able to rewind time to control each and every tactical move and splattering shot for all members of the team. Every time the clock is turned back the outcome of the heist hangs in the balance as each Reservoir Dog plays their role in finishing the job and completing the bloody escape.

“As huge fans of Reservoir Dogs, we’re very focused on creating a highly addictive experience that stays true to the tense, dramatic vibe of this unforgettable movie,” said Liam Patton, CEO, Big Star Games. “By taking control of different characters for overlapping bursts of time, players must utilize the strengths of each squad member to carry out the game’s missions, with every move and shot creating a butterfly effect on the overall outcome.”

Reservoir Dogs: Bloody Days lets players take on the role of memorable characters Mr. Blonde, Mr. Blue, Mr. Brown, Mr. Orange, Mr. Pink, and Mr. White as they embark on several heists based on the movie. Using “Time Back” combat, players will need to rob, shoot and provide cover fire with the iconic cast of characters as they approach each of the fast-paced, bombastic action scenes and navigate the game’s dramatic twists.

Reservoir Dogs: Bloody Days will let action-shooter fans experience:

Unique time-bending action: Employ a highly addictive strategic approach in tension-filled robberies and shootouts, controlling each character for overlapping bursts of time;

Six Infamous Movie Characters: Control Mr. Blonde, Mr. Blue, Mr. Brown, Mr. Orange, Mr. Pink, and Mr. White in a series of heists;

Heists and surprises based on the film: Experience adrenaline-filled heists with the Reservoir Dogs crew.

Finally get to have an idea what the heist was, because the movie didn't feature that, just gave the impression that it was a botch. Looks alright, especially the bloodshed, makes me interested in how the ear-slicing scene will be handled.

It was a diamond heist. I'm personally on the fence about this game. While I liked the movie, I'm not too sure a game adaption would turn out too well. Wish I had a full trailer or screenshot.

I half expected it to be another Telltale Games "choose your adventure" type game but I think this will probably end up being like the Godfather or Scarface game.

Also, "time back" feature? It's basically Prince of Persia Sands of Time isn't it?

it's cute that you think PC's matter in the gaming world.
Is this a joke? Your current gen consoles were the first generation to be released weaker than a mid-high tier PC. Couple that with steam having million's of people playing games through their services each day, while Company's like Square Enix are even releasing random ports of a lot of their old/new titles because its easy and profitable. You can't say PC gaming doesn't matter anymore.

That's not what he meant. When it comes to "exclusivity" it always means the console version. It has always been that way. Quantum Break is an XBox One exclusive, as well as Dead Rising 3. Meaning, I can't play those games on any other console. PC doesn't count.

You're arguing semantics, if it plays games and has games officially released to it and is acknowledge as a gaming platform then it should be treated as such. It's an outdated mindset to think that when talking about games PC shouldn't considered, if you do think like that you'd have to either be living under a rock or dense beyond help. I mean it's at the point where "console" architecture is almost indistinguishable from a PC.

Whether you agree with all that or not, he never once specified "console" exclusivity so I took by definition.

PC is not a console.

Let me put it like this. Ask anyone that has a $1500+ PC, now ask them would they of bought that PC if it was ONLY for games. It doesnt have all the functions of a computer just games, would they still spend $$$ on it? i guarantee you the mass majority would be NO if they answer truthfully.

PC's are personal computers that so happen to play games, AAA PC exclusives are almost non existent since the 90's, the gaming industry revolves around consoles like it or not. You see all these new MMO's that has historically been a PC only thing, now how many MMO's are being designed with consoles in mind now? all of them.

PC is the straggler that gets the left overs with fancy bells and whistles, when the ports actually work that is, which i personally couldnt care about "OH WOW that blade of grass has more detail WOW! who cares."
