I am looking for a little help. I purchased the Datel amiibo Powersaves with the Power Tag in hopes of backing up my amiibo on my phone.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 running the stock rom version 4.4.2. The NFC is located on the battery and is able to scan amiibo using the Tagmo app. However, the phone will not recognize the Power Tag, at all. It just gives a quick beep. The Power Tag works fine using the supplied base hooked up to a computer. Is anyone familiar with what type of NFC the Power Tag is using and why my phone isn't compatible? I have 2 phones that I tried and both give the same result.

Here is an image of the inside of the Power Tag, just for curiosity's sake. There is something underneath the potting material in the middle of the PCB, but I'm not going to try and pull it off to find out. My guess would be that whatever it is, that is why the phone can't read it.

Sorry, my x10host account was taken down. Not sure if I sill have the files but if I do I will update the link and PM you. I'll check later.

Yes, this works with O3DS / 2DS and the IR NFC Reader / Writer.
Was this ever reuploaded? I can't seem to access the files, I've been trying a few variations, but if it's taken down, that'd explain it.

@dpad_5678 Just picked one of these up thanks to reading this thread months ago. I was gonna do the tags and make my own Amiibo cards but I don't have an Android phone to do it so this'll need to suffice for now.

Actually PowerSaves stores all amiibo bins at C:\Users\<user name>\Powersaves For AMIIBO\
Just copy any valid 540B amiibo dumps to this dir and the APS software will recognize it and allow you to restore it to powertag.
You can also rename the bin file in this format <Amiibo-Name>_<8-digit-random-hex-value>_<yyyy>-<mm>-<dd>_[name that shows in APS].bin
for example "Zelda_90b1b81c_2016-12-10_[ssb-zelda].bin", and in APS it will show as "ssb-zelda"

I just wanted to be sure I am looking at the right thing. I see these going for $15 at gamestop. All I really want it for is to emulate the breath of the wild amiibo. Is that viable? I would think so, but the price is less than I was expecting. Essentially want to make sure it has the power tag included.

Also, any hangup with using this on the switch?

Seems to be an Amiiqo clone. I think it's cheaper to use blank NFC NTAG215 stickers instead of this but it should work.
And yes, Amiibos work on the Switch as well. I flashed a few to NTAGs with TagMo and they all worked on my friend's Switch (BotW).

I don't have an android device, and buying an NFC reader actually looks more expensive. The cards looked to be about 50 cents each if bought in bulk, closer to a dollar when not. Are the rewritable or isnit one and done?

I picked up one of these today and used it for Zelda on the Switch, worked great. I had one hangup where it was saying something about the path not found. It was due to the C:\Users\<username>\Powersaves For AMIIBO folder not existing. Once I manually made that folder everything worked as expected.

Cool!

Any idea if this thing allows you to write to the NFC stickers as well for those who don't have android? Just weighing the options here. Rewriting the tag that comes with the package over a dozen times a day seems cumbersome haha

I have no idea if it can write stickers unfortunately. That said once you setup your bin files with his tool it's really fast to swap between them. When you touch it to the powersavers pad it's a couple clicks and like 3 seconds to flash and you're good. The whole process of reflashing each time takes like 10 seconds.

so I went ahead and bought one of these today at gamestop. Can't seem to get the PS software to see the files? I downloaded some .bin and I imagine I have to remove any spaces from the name. I do that, I paste the name in (without ".bin" at the end), select a name on next step, load PS for amiibo, and get nothing. Any idea what I am doing wrong? I am sure it is something simple...

EDIT: The issue was I did not have a "powersaves for AMIIBO" folder made yet. I had to scan an amiibo in for it to be generated (or I guess make my own)

Yes this is the issue I mentioned in my post. :) If you run the program through a cmd prompt instead of double clicking it, it will stay on the screen and show that a directory is not found. I saw another post here mention the name of the folder. I manually created that folder and it solved the problem.

That's what I ended up doing. Thanks. Got it all working now. Just need to wait for my NFC tags to come in to make permanent cards.
I don't think this products work with those cards from what I've read. If it does that would be cool. I wouldn't mind making a few of them permanent.

It helps if I read things hahahaha.

Ah well. At least I figured it out eventually.
