I have CakesFW + AL9H with my Sysnand on 11.2. I want to update to 11.3. What do I need to do to update?
...
after this do i just replace the new cakes file with the one on my 3ds?
Yes: you replace the actual patches, the kernel and its cetk (delete the firmkey and the _patched one too), and maybe the arm9loaderhax_si.bin (I'm not actually sure you're required to, but it's just 1 minute of work in the worst case = cutting it out from cakes.dat)

Anyone else having trouble running Nanquitas's BootNTR Selector (recently updated to 2.5, supporting firmware 11.3) with CakesFW in an 11.3 environment?

Apparently there's no changes required for svcBackdoor.cake to work in 11.3, at least for o3ds. https://transfer.sh/Rki6s/svcbackdoor.cake
It's untested on n3ds, but I expect it to work.

Cakes_190 wont work here (o3ds, sysnand 9.2, without arm9loaderhax). I'm gettin black screen triyng to launch Cakes.3dsx from HBL+soundhax.
Cakes_178 loads, but wont boot 11.3 emunand.
:/
Try this file: http://chunk.io/f/014612541fa04235a6f7593c86a4a200.3dsx
It's an older version that apparently still works. Will try to fix it properly soon, as I've caused several breakages in CakeHax lately, apparently.

Hello guys i need help if possible :ohnoes: i think i did shit...
I have cakefw 138 and native_firm 9.2 a long time, so I decided to update the system, I always updated and never had problem, the system was for version 11.3 but native_firm continued in 9.2 I could enter the menu of cakesfw holding the L, But when I started the system it was only on black screen, I read somewhere that I had to disable the patches and enable again, so I did it, then the system started and no sd card application opens and I can not log in anymore Cakesfw menu with L + Power, does anyone know what I can do now? Even if I have to reset everything?

Cakesfw is dead on 11.3. 11.3 requires 11.3 native_firm or it won't boot. Switch to luma and it will boot again.

Before spreading false statements how about you read the last couple of pages?

11.3 requiring 11.3 native_firm is not false info. And i thought cakesfw was discontinued

How can i do this?

Just replace the arm9loaderhax.bin with the luma3ds one.

Yeah, nice try taking stuff out of context. Your statement as a whole is false info. Cakes has been updates to support 11.3

Admit you were wrong like a man instead of childishly trying to spin things. It serves no purpose and it's pathetic.

Do me a favor; go back to page 167. Read the whole thing. Specifically, @Ryccardo's post and @Wolfvak's. Don't worry, we're all here waiting for you to come back and admit your mistake.

Also, for reference; @mid-kid had Cakes up and working within 24hrs, and never said anything about discontinuing his CFW. Cakes is stable, not dead. It recieves patches when needed.

Stop spreading misinformation
I finished updating it: http://ny1.hashbang.sh:8834/nightly/Cakes_190.zip
You'll need to grab the newest NATIVE_FIRM from https://raw.githubusercontent.com/mid-kid/CakesForeveryWan/master/firmurls and place it in the cakes directory.
Hold "L" while starting up your console to enter the CakesFW menu, re-enable all your patches (Please don't forget to re-enable the firmware protection patches if you're using arm9loaderhax!), and boot.
Keep in mind that doing this breaks NTR (I'm unsure if it even works on the latest firm yet). You'll have to wait for a new svcBackdoor.cake for that.
3ds_injector.cake should still work, as well as all AGB and TWL cakes.
This was posted 24 hours after the update, making CakesFW the first (besides Luma3DS) to update to support 11.3

Refer to my quote, you don't need to switch Luma3DS.

Hi,
I have an O3DS/9.2.0 Sysnand + CakesFW launched by Menuhax (No AL9H). I've had this setup working comfortably for a long time, so I've never changed it. I had grown used to emunand updates never being a problem, so I was caught off guard when I applied 11.3 to emunand today after I had not used my 3ds in awhile.

I read the last couple of pages of this thread and I tried:

  • Update to Cakes_190
  • After it didnt work, tried clearing firmkey.bin, config.dat and let them regenerate.

Which also didn't work.

Either way, when launching CakesFW, I get:

Code:
Failed to load the config,
  Starting from scratch.
Loading NATIVE_FIRM...
Loaded FIRM
Failed to load FIRM key,
  will try to create it...
Loaded CETK
Found the common key Y
Decrypting key
Saving FIRM key for future use
Decrypting FIRM
Decrypting the NCCH
Decrypting the exefs
Couldn't determine firmware version
Dumped unsupported firmware

Couldn't determine firmware version

The firmware you're trying to use is
most probably not supported by Cakes.
Dumping it to your SD card:
  /cakes/firmware_unsupported.bin

I never reach the menu in Cakes to select patches (it halts before then).

SHA256sum of my new files:

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

It looks like you updated without the Firmware protection turned on and kinda removed your A9LH.

I am not going to lie, I am not having an issue with the files for A9LH. Why not just update to A9LH instead?
