thats cool. ok im going through the guide. i just booted into Decrypt9WIP. the guide says i should have backed up user tickets. Is it too late to do that? Or will I get a chance past this point?

It's not necessary to back them up, unless you know you're definitely going to screw it up. In fact, in the 6 3DSes that I've modded, I've never backed up the tickets. The process should go smoothly, as long as you read everything carefully. Anyway, this is going kinda off-topic now, so, I wish you best of luck!

Ok thank you. Can you PM me in case I run into any problems? I'm sorry.

Sure! Feel free to PM me if you run into a problem of any sort,
Thanks! Now to be clear, the "start a conversation" link is the same as PMing on this site, right? It's a little misleading as I am still new to this site so please forgive me for being a noob.

I fixed the guide so steps 1 to 4 are better worded. Thanks for letting me know!

Thanks, but I'm still confused on step 3. Which folder do I select? Is it the Original folder containing all the courses, models, nets, etc for the game, or is it something else? I ask this because before I selected the Original folder and followed the steps after that. When it came to put the romfs file on my SD card I found a hans folder in the 3ds folder. I wasn't sure whether to put it there or create a new hans folder at the root of my SD card, so I tried the former. After doing that I booted up Homebrew using Soundhax and selected hans and made it target NSMB2 (while holding the L button) and switched the romfs > SD from no to yes. Saved the configuration and it said the romfs path was invalid. I still selected ok and at the bottom of the code it said 'invalidated icache' and wouldn't do anything past that point.

So, was there something I did wrong?

Ooh, you're on the Hans method.

If you already have a hans folder, then great! Make sure it's lower case. Then you launch the romfs builder, and select the extracted folder. Either the original, or an edited copy. You rename that file appropriately, and copy it into Hans. If that doesn't work, then you'd be better off with the second method.

What do you mean by the second method?

Yeah I dont think Hans works anymore but I could be wrong. The OnionFS one works great though! I have started working on 3 levels already. Testing camera elements. Came up with an interesting concept in a tower level.

Pretty sure HANS is patched in 11.3, I'll update the guide later.

I'm currently installing A9HL onto my 3DS. Tutorials are saying I have to update to 11.2 if I'm not on it, but the latest version is 11.3. Should I update or not?

EDIT: Never mind. I got it to work, now I have A9HL.

But now I have another problem. When I launch NTR Selector and let it boot me back into the home menu and I select NSMB2, my edited level doesn't appear. The screen does flash green, but that's only for the cheat plugins. I've followed the steps correctly, it's just the last two ones I'm having a bit of an issue understanding.
