The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's development is complete

zeldaheader2.jpg

The long-awaiting upcoming Legend of Zelda title has finally wrapped up development. Breath of the Wild has officially gone gold, according to a Tweet by Monolith Soft developer Yasuyuki Honne, which shows a picture of the game's staff, alongside Shigeru Miyamoto during a wrap-up party. After multiple delays, from 2015, to 2016, and now into 2017, we can finally celebrate the game's full completion.

As much as I'd enjoy a leak to occur for my most favorite game series ever I'm not sure I want my first impression of it to be tainted by an inferior version. I like the Wii U but at this point it has run its course and after seeing the version differences it's clear which will be the definitive version to play on.

We've waited years for this title to release, less than a month left is nothing. I can wait it out.

Double post mate.

I think the worst part about a n early eak is that wiiu owners who didn't know about soft modding would do it - and I think it would negatively impact zelda sales on the wiiu quite a bit.

With all due respect that's on them if they choose to cheap out and play an inferior version.

Even with the Switch version I'm greatly disappointed we aren't getting a 1080p@60fps experience. This should be the standard for most modern games especially a game series as renown as LoZ. I'm not about graphics completely but first impressions of the game and most importantly the Switch itself is important.

On my playthrough of Zelda:BotW I'll be leaving Link bare-naked only with the boxers and fight his way like that. :P

I'm tentatively calling this playthrough method: The "I'm ready for something manly" method.

I remember at the Switch Premiere everyone was dressing up Link and I was wondering -- Why? He looks great almost bare-naked or even if Nintendo allowed Link to be nude I'd go with that although it'd not be too ideal. Enemies could either aim at the dick or get a hard-on and give mixed feelings. :rofl2:

*yawn* Wake me up for the GBAtemp review.
Going gold means nothing in this era of day one patches. Like this post if you've heard that one before. Slow news day.
Correct me if I'm wrong. What is newsworthy here? That they will definitely hit the date they previously said they would?

Nothing gets GBAtemp more excited than the possibility of leaks, no matter how slim.

I think this is the closest I remember hearing Nintendo take it to the deadline without just moving the deadline again. Hmmm...really hope that doesn't mean we get a glitch-ridden game or what have you. Sure, it's Nintendo, but this project had to deal with two versions (thanks a lot Switch) instead of being true to its roots.

1 month before release. I hope they bugtest it though.
Most bugtesting is done before they certify gold. Gold = programming done

You should update the 360 to newest dash before RGHing it yes. But not a big deal if you don't, you can install new dash/avatar updates after. It's just easier to do it auto online before, instead manual offline after.

@BigOnYa I wanted to ask you about your experience with seeing south park. Most of the people a bit younger like my younger brother and cousins that are a few younger than me that saw kids found south park funny because of the curse words, kids at school, that seemed like liking the show on a very basic level.

I could not quite have a in depth discussion of the show.

How was it for you? As an adult. What did you find the most interesting part about it. Did you relate to the parents of the kids and their situations. Was it satires, the commentary on society. The references on celebrities' and pop culture.

I remember seeing the very first episode back in the day, and have watched every episode since. I used to set my VCR to record them even, shows how long ago.

I just like any comedies really, and cartoons have always been a favorite of mine. Family guy, American Dad, Futurama, Cleveland Show, Simpsons - I like them all.

South Park is great cause they always touch on relavent issues going on today, and make something funny out of it.

  • S @ salazarcosplay:
@BigOnYa were you always up to date on the current events and issues of the time or were there issues that you first found out thru south park
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Most of the time yea I knew, I watch and read the news regularly, but sometimes the Hollywood BS stuff, like concerning actors slip by me. I don't follow most Hollywood BS (example: the Kardasians)

  • S @ salazarcosplay:
@BigOnYa there were relevant issues before south park was made, that's why i think a south park prequel/spinoff would be great. Randy and his friends in their child hood

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea, like them running in high school together, getting into stuff, and how they got hitched and had kids. And how the town of South Park was back then compared to now. That would be cool to see.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
    yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@salazarcosplay if they made a prequel, it would still be about current issues, cause it doesn't make sense to make it about stuff that happened 30 years ago that nobody cares about anymore
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's too late
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the older south park episodes about particular issues usually age poorly since the topic is no longer relevant
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
an exception is giant douche vs turd sandwich, that's always relevant :P
